14 Years and Still Great
I have been eating at Sahara since my Senior Year of high school. I would crave Sahara when I was away at College, and as many Turkish restaurants there are near my home in the West Village, NONE compare. So whenever We come to grandma's house, Sahara it is. I always get the Ezogelin, Shepards Salad with Feta, Chicken Kabob Plate ( Even the Pilaf Rice is to die for), or the Lamb Chops. Everything on the Menu is worth a try once. Oh, and definitely try the bread with the cucumber sauce/soup. The only thing that would make this staple better would be to have a really good desert menu if you still have room :)

Some Good/Some Not So Good
Food is excellent but portions are small with only a rice or fries option as side. Service is good if you're a regular-if not be prepared for inattentive and aloof service

Unbelievably Delicious
For Middle Eastern fare, Sahara is by far the best. It's a bit of a hike for me but always worth the trip. Shepherd's salad with feta is great, hummus is great too. Lamb and Chicken kebabs are light and delicious with just the right amount of spice. A mouthwatering experience!

Awesome!!
Sahara rocks. That's just all you need to know. The bread is fabulous, the Shephard's Salad is great, esp. w/feta cheese....and the food, is just amazing.
