Some things on the menu are really excellent, for example the crostini and the black linguini, but I'd go so far as to say that other items are actually disappointing. The meatballs taste like they have a lot of filler and very little meat, and I had a lamb ragu special the other night that had only a few scraps of lamb in a tomato sauce. I guess I would recommend sticking with the printed menu rather than the specials (which have been disappointing over all). Also definitely make sure you find out the price for the specials before you order. Menu items are quite reasonably priced, but the specials are quite expensive comparatively. Overall, I'm happy to have this place in the neighborhood, but approach the menu with caution.

The food is pretty good. I have been there for dinner and brunch and for the quality and the price.. you can't beat it. But the service leaves much to be desired. On my third try things seemed to be getting better but there is still a great amount of work to do when it comes to service. The wait-staff seems green and the management is absent or just unaware of the gaps in decent service. But hey poor service seems to be the norm these days even in Manhattan, New York.

This place is alright, but not great. In this neighborhood though, it's the ONLY Italian place and that goes a long way. It makes it a solid option in a culinary wasteland. The food is pretty good, the prices are mostly alright although some things (the specials in particular) are overpriced. The service is erratic and I can certainly do without the fake tough guy act from the managers and bartenders. Get over yourselves and focus on stepping it up with the restaurant. This place has potential if they want to be serious and improve.

We recently had a post-wedding lunch for 25 family members and friends on the patio. I had talked to the owner, several times to plan the event, and he was extremely accommodating. He helped us decide what to order and how much. Everything was served family style, which added to the camaraderie. We ended up with three different crostini, two salads, and two pastas, plus the steak and salmon and a selection of desserts. Wine and beer were included, plus coffee afterwards. The grand total? $35/person plus a 20% service charge. The food was amazing. The crostini and the salads were so good that we almost forgot to pace ourselves. The Italian among us said that the fusilli was like his mother makes, and a specialty of his region. People practically licked the rigatoni off the plate. Everybody loved the steak and the salmon, and to my surprise, we all devoured the desserts. The wines were really good, too. The setting was perfect and the service was excellent. And almost everybody tried bocce ball! We can't wait to go back.

We needed an Italian restaurant and this one is one of my favorites, I don't evenhave to go downtown if I wanna have really good Italian food, service is great, everybody very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend it.

Saggio is excellent! It has moderate prices and high quality food - what more could you want? I've eaten there several times since it opened a couple of months ago, and have been really pleased each time. Their brunch especially is a bargain - I've tried omelets and pancakes, and loved all. The service has been pleasant and not intrusive. The only problem is that it sometimes fills up early, and getting a table is difficult. I heartily recommend it!
