great
This place is my go to mexican restaurant. They make the best ground beef hard tacos!

yummy soft tacos!
we ordered for the first time from this location. food was fresh (we ordered six soft tacos and one chicken tamale) and very yummy. the sauce to put on top of the tacos was the biggest hit - a bit spicy and tasty. definitely recommend for value and taste!

Not bad
This place is pretty reasonable quality and price. I like to think of it as the equivalent of a diner, but Mexican. So don't expect too much, and you won't be disappointed. The chorizo is very greasy (but tasty). Personally, I like the carne asada from this place. It's good.

Inedible
My girlfriend and I JUST ordered delivery from this place and are currently throwing the entire order away. The steak was so overcooked we couldn't even chew it. And the pollo pabian sauce was bland and unappetizing. We seriously just tossed the entire meal and are currently putting our coats on to go out to eat.

Not even close to authentic
Beware of reviews that label this place as authentic - it's not. Have grown up in South Texas I can attest to the fact that Tex-Mex and true Mexican fare is impossible to find in NYC. Sabor A Mexico has just reinforced that fact. Let's start from the beginning. For an appetizer we requested Guacamole - it's not available because "avocados are not in season..." Dude, we're in NYC, I can walk less than a block away and buy these people 60 avocados. This isn't Blue Hill, I don't care if it's not in season in North America, I guarantee you can still buy avocados. Instead we get the nachos with...not just any cheese melted on top, nope liquid cheese like you'd get in horrible cheap nachos from a movie theatre!! Ridiculous! Chips were stale as well. I ordered flautas and my wife got the crunchy chorizo tacos. Both were failures. The flautas were greasy, overcooked, and surrounded by watery refried beans: gross. Flautas should be elegant flutes, not greasy at all, and crispy not soggy! Where was the crema, guacamole, salsa, and queso fresco?! NOT there, that's where. My wife's tacos were unpleasant as well. Greasy, over cooked taco shells, tasteless chorizo, no spice at all. Don't waste your money here.

excellent mexican food...reviewed by an authentic mexican
i am a mexican raised in california, so let's just say i know great and most importantly authentic mexican food when i have it. needless to say, sabor a mexico is the most authentic mexican food i've had since moving to nyc 5 years ago. it's definitely hard to find great mexican food but alas i have found this great mexican gem... i had the chile rellenos which were excellent. though, please take note, that mexican food is not diet type food so it can be quite hearty... if you like to eat light foods like salads, please don't expect that from an authentic mexican restaurant... happy mexican :-)

less than mediocre, at best.
got delivery, was prompt but beans were not "refried," tails of shrimp were sort've cut off, sour cream was drippy/melted, taco meat was hardened (as if it had been made the day before and microwaved that day), guac was brown, tortillas were the worst i'd ever had. do not order from this place!
