Ruth's Chris is the place to which my family compares all other steak houses. We tried to find places that we like as much and failed miserably. The steak is fantastic, service is great, and the sides and desserts are a must! I recommend the garlic mashed potatoes and string beans almondine. It is expensive but worth every penny.

Go on restaurant week. They have the best $20 lunch I have ever had. The steaks are dripping with butter, and they don't hestitate to bring you extra when you ask.

This restaurant is fabulous......what more can I say? My waiter's name was Ian. He was the best. He never missed a beat; very attentive. The food was great. I took my leftovers home....had the steak 2 days later......still tender and delicious! I will definitely go back (and request the same waiter!)

Although the ambience is very nice, intimate, and dark, the food is not worth the prices. The steaks were were not great and the shrimp was dry and for $37.95 for this platter it definitely was not worth. Ordered onion rings and were served rings that could have easily served 10 to 12 people, and it was only two of us. Not appealing at all. After barely picking at the food, and eating only one onion ring, tried to go for dessert in the hopes it would be up-to-far. Another dissapointment the chocolate cake was hard that you could lift it with a fork, and the cheesecake looked like someone froze the cream cheese and added crumbs to the sides. For two the total was over $120 plus. Don't mind paying this if the food makes me ooh and ahhh practically melt. Wont go back.

I've been here many times, and nothing comes close to their creamed spinach. Its THAT good. The steak melts in ur mouth (if u can't handle a big steak, try the petite filet mignon) and the garlic mashed potatoes are to die for. Oh, and speaking as a person who hates cheesecake, theirs is FANTASTIC!!!

Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is the perfect place to enjoy a hearty meal of steak and potatoes. The restaurant is located on the outskirts of Times Square so it's not overly crowded with the theater going crowds but a reservation is highly recommended. The inside decor is nicely done to please the dining crowd where you feel like you're dining inside a hotel lobby instead of a steakhouse saloon. The aroma of beef and steaks fill the air because of the technique used to cook their steaks. Firstly, their meats are slathered with butter and grilled. When finished, the steaks are served on a heated plate. This techniques creates a steak that sizzles in butter when it arrives to your table so be careful because your plate will be extremely hot. Make sure not to wear your best shirts or blouse when you dine here or else it might be covered in butter stains by the end of your meal. If you're conscious about your weight and/or clothing then you can request that your meats not be cooked in butter. I ordered the t-bone steak which was thick and juicy with a nice beefy texture after it was cooked to my desired preference of medium-well. My wife ordered the medium-well filet mignon butterflied which was tender, succulent and buttery to the taste. The entrees were filling enough but a side order of baked potatoes and creamed spinach will put you over the top. If you're still have enough room then you can try one of their select desserts which were fresh and baked on the premises. The warm apple crumb tart with ice cream was surprisingly good and my wife managed to finish it off with no complaints. Even though the steaks are pricey, it was still worth an enjoyable night out with the wife.
