Server ruined 1st half of dinner
First off I will say the food was AMAZING...went with a group of co-workers for restaurant week, and you really cannot beat the value...steaks were cooked perfectly and the filet melted in my mouth!...However, the first 30mins of our dinner started off horribly, even though we had a reservation the hostess sat us at a lone bar table right near the entrance rather than in the dinning rooms...then after 10mins our server FINALLY came over...when my friend asked which was better the chicken or steak he rudely replied "we are a steakhouse!"...and didn't ask us if we wanted drinks or anything...we asked for some more bread and he pretty much told us it wasn't his job...then when we asked again he brought it back placed it down and mocking us said "is that enought bread, u sure u don't need anymore"...and when we asked for butter he acted as if we were inconveniencing him and rudely replied ya ok....we spoke to a manager who was very accomodating and got us a new server who was excellent...they also sent a complimentary bottle of wine over....other than the rude server the first time everything was great!

Yum
Went for restaurant week and it was great. Was a great value. For $35 got soup or salad, choice of 3 steaks, fish or chicken with either potatoes or spinach and dessert. I had the ny strip which was AMAZING. My boyfriend had the ribeye which he really enjoyed. I love how it's cooked in the butter. Service was good. Everything was good. It was a real treat. Highly recommend, especially for restaurant week!

What a steak!!
The most amazing steak I've ever had. The staff were so helpful and polite. A must have if you are steak lover visiting NY.

ALWAYS My Bday Spot!
Ruths Chris has been my #1 Choice for Steak for as long as i can remember. Ive been to all the big name steak houses in NYC and have found Ruths Chris to be consistent and the best everytime. I go here for my Bday every year without fail. My recommendation: Shrimp (BBQ) appetizer with Filet or Petit Filet (add butter) and Garlic Mash - You cant go wrong!

Fabulous... done in true NY style!
I am from Los Angeles, CA. and I thought the meal was spectacular! Price is never an issue when one can experience a meal in this fashion. I have been to several of the country's top steak houses and found Ruth's to be superior, reminiscent of The Silver Fox (TX), and our own Lawry's in Los Angeles. My wife and I were completely satisfied after a brief escape from NYC's evening hussle. The bottle of wine I chose was a California wine and a perfect pick to combine our love for NYC and deep appreciation for our home state. If you are a frugal individual, or on a budget, this place may not be for you, but, if you enjoy splurging for an evening meal that will take you to another world, by all means, consider Ruth's. My beautiful wife and I frequent NYC and this is always a place we find ourselves running back to.

We were pleasantly surprised!
We were in from Connecticut on Sep. 30th for an afternoon recital at Carnegie Hall. I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance, staff recognition (my online reservation registered and they knew my name) the delicious food and the POLITE service. I've been to several NYC steakhouses and this was by far the best so far. I recommend it without hesitation.

So So
First off, looking at the other reviews, I'm pretty sure a few of 'em were written by management. Just glaring sales pitches. Anyway, went here, and the food was good, but not worth the prices in my opinion. I prefer Mortons, which has a little finer feel to it, and better vegetables.
