Ruthie's Restaurant

The food was awesome it literally tasted like my grandmas home cooking! I'm so ready to slack my mama its so good! You can't go wrong with anything you order here great portion sizes too. the delivery process was a little long. There was a miscommunication about my address on my part and the guy on the line was a little snippy but I would still order from here a million times over! Love love love the place! My new favorite.

I had food delivered. It was difficult getting someone on the phone as I was on hold for a long time, but once they picked up the owner seemed really nice. The food is really good, but extremely overpriced. The amount of food given is barely enough for one meal the guys that I hang out with would not be satisfied eating here unless they ordered two entrees and extra sides and they're not big guys. I was very disappointed and will not be eating here again.

If you haven't tried Ruthie's and live in the area, shame on you! I love them and would eat it everyday if I could (but everything in moderation right?)! Mac salad is the best! I always get the whiting dinner and there's so much fish! These aren't skinny strips but BIG filets seasoned perfectly. Corn good, cornbread great, candied yams good, potato salad good, Mac n cheese good, collard greens good. Even with delivery, their food holds up--the fish is never soggy by the time it gets to me. Basically, I've never gotten a bad meal here. Ever.

Just not what it used to be. Service was never their strong suit. The people who work there are very nice, but need to be more efficient. Also, the last few times I order I was disappointed with the food. They're not as bad as 5 spot, but that seems to be the direction they're moving toward. Hoping to be a customer again in the future.

I went to Ruthies this past Saturday night for the first time. We thought it was great! I got the fried chicken, and I'm thinking one piece I'll be starving later...huge piece of chicken and 2 sides, I couldn't move after. The chicken was juicy, crispy and just plain great. I liked the sweetpotatoes and mac and cheese was decent. The bf got the bbq'd chicken and seasoned rice, he loved them both. The staff was great and Ruthie was just a sweetheart. Give Ruthies a try, I think you'll love it too.

The Ruthies on Dekalb used to be a spot I'd hit pretty regularly but then something changed and the food well....wasn't quite worth it anymore. Needless to say when the spot opened on Myrtle I was pretty excited. To cut to the chase I have tried them three times. Each time a fiasco. Customer service is always nice but... once I ordered 3 fried chicken dinners, only to be absolutely shocked to see the tiny pieces of chicken in those containers when we got home! We were starving after our meal :o( Another time they totally screwed up the sides and the last time they actually had the nerve to skip people ahead of me that are I guess "daily regulars". AND it's not like it's a cheap/cost effective place to eat! I will never go there again.

Don't get it twisted, they have some good food. somethings aren't as good as they may sound. The barb-q chicken, baked chicken, mac and cheese, oxtails, sweet potatoe pie and that's about it.
