Now I have the recipe for "Heaven"

A big Thank You to Jack the manager and Rich the chef for sharing the recipe for the delicious appetizer we had here! We are making it for Christmas Eve. They were so kind to explain it to me - now that's service! Rich even offered to give me some of the special sauce if I was in the neighborhood - unfortunately I live many miles away but what a nice gesture. Kudos to all. This will be my first stop next time I am in town.

    Great Romantic/Bloody Mary Breakfast

830am, beat the crowd. All the breakfast dishes are creations, I'm hooked on the eggs benedict. Treat yourself to a delicious Bloody Mary in a tall frosty glass. People watching is always great on this corner. Impress someone take them to Rue 57 for breakfast, lunch or after work drinks.

    Heaven on a plate

We were seated at a table in the cozy and romantic lower level. It was perfect on a cold night. The appetizer of "popcorn" shrimp was highly underrated by this description! The shrimp were medium to large in size and dipped in the slightest of tempura for a crispy crunch. The creamy sauce had a chili infused kick and the sweet and savory granny smith juliennes were a perfect accompaniment in texture and flavor. Black sesame seeds were sprinkled on top as a garnish. This is one of the best dishes I have ever had! If only I could duplicate it at home. Both our seafood entrees were excellent - especially the salmon. My only complaint was the hard as a rock bread served first. Our server was attentive, but a bit slow in refilling glasses and removing plates. The atmosphere upstairs is noisier and more festive - like a big party. I would return here again and again if only a resident New Yorker! It will be on my agenda my next visit and I will recommend it with confidence. Our bill came to $90 for two w/o tip.

    What's the Deal?

The first restaurant we go to in NY is Rue 57. The service was great. Our waiter was precious, and very attentive. I have the salmon wrapped in cucumber paper, per his suggestion. It was delicious. Main course, Veal sauted in sandpaper. It had no taste, good or bad. Wine was good. All and all, skip it if you're from New Orleans. Seasoning is a bad word here.

    night out with the girls

Started at the bar with a couple of drinks, mango martini was made with puree and absolute mandarin not a good mix - the mandarin over powers the mango.... So then we had watermelon martini's - it was not made right - too much puckers and not enough vodka so all you tasted was a very very sweet jolly rancher. The waiter was awesome and made our night...He was quick and got everything right and talked to us, very cute!! The atmosphere is relaxing but not amazing. I like the music in the background and I loved the roasted chicken and spicy tuna rolls - very fresh!! I would go again but I would probably just have some wine.

Ok food, but not so great service.

The food was ok, not great though. The service was definetly lacking.

    Enjoyable Evening

We stumbled into this restaurant on our way to Central Park. We had a romantic meal, starting off with a Rue 57 cocktail and a mango martini. The seared tuna was superb - fresh and topped deliciously with sliced ginger. The roasted chicken was savory, served atop crisp green beans. The waiter paid close attention to every detail. Service was quick, but not rushed. A wonderful experience -- the perfect prelude to a stroll in The Park.
