Expensive, mediocre food and rushed service
I would only recommend eating here if you're in a hurry for expensive, overpriced, mediocre quality food. They bring food so fast and rush you out the door so they can seat the next table its obnoxious. The table next to me hadn't even fully sat down and they were taking their app order. The apps came and they hadn't even taken their coats off! Rude, rude, rude!! Add to that a cheesy atmosphere and expensive prices.

RCS Northvale loves RUE 57!!
This restaurant is our office's favorite. The service is always on and the variety of the menu is key as it offers something for everyone.

Always reliable
A good lunch spot with nicely portioned, tasty salads and good people watching if you get an outdoor spot or a table by the window. Generally a bit of a scrum by the hostess stand, as the place is popular, but the staff does a good job of getting everyone seated asap. Noise level can be obnoxious, particularly if the windows aren't open.

One of the Best Cobb Salads Ever!!
We came to the restaurant later in the afternoon and enjoyed two Cobb salads and a Steak Sandwich, which were very very delicious! The service was attentive and pleasant! The French Bistro atmosphere was charming and we found the restaurant to be tidy and attractive! We would definitely dine here again!

Food delicious, service poor
Agree with rude references to wait staff - and not very attentive staff...but food was excellent...and atmosphere festive....close to the park for a late afternoon lunch. Priced reasonably for lunch in NYC w/ glass of wine. RUE 57 Tuna Salad is fantastic!

poor service fair food
were never offered a drink, a different server ...not ours...took our order...got it wrong....they brought back 3 different meals all not what we ordered. the main dish came out without the sides. the sides came out after finishing the main dish and the sauce for both the entre and the sides came out after we had finished eating. definitely do not recommend going anywhere near the place . the only thing that was good was the fish was fresh and the caesar salad was decent.

Pricey, but was good
I ordered a late lunch ( caesar salad with chicken slices), a side of mashed potatoes and a glass of wine.. price? $ 40.. so very expensive.. but the salad was good, and fresh..the parmesan mashed potatoes were great, crusted on top.. very tasty. Sauvignon blanc was also very nice ( $ 10 a glass which seems average in manhattan). Atomosphere was just ok on day i went, but i have been here before and if you sit near window and windows are open during summer time, you cant get better than that. But it was a cold day... so inside it was very crowded. One suggestion i would have would be to space tables further apart, it was hard for me to get out of my table because it pretty much touched another table adjacent to mine. So in summary: Good food and wine and service, just expensive...
