RUB - Righteous Urban BBQ (CLOSED)

I ordered take out for our office. I was quoted 45 minutes. An hour and a half later I called inquiring into where was the food. The woman on the phone told me he had left and it would be there shortly. It came shortly but freezing cold!

I ordered from RUB last night. When I ordered they told me it would be an hour to get our food. After an hour and a half my husband called to check on our order. They said the order was on its way out the door. At just under 2 hours (1hr50 to be exact) I called again to check on the order. The woman who answered the phone said it just went out the door. When I questioned her on the fact that we had been told half an hour ago that it was on the way out the door and that when we placed our order they had told us it would be an hour, she said she didn't know why we had been told an hour -- deliveries had been taking an hour and a half. She blamed it on the weather. It had barely been sprinkling when we ordered, and I hadn't seen an umbrella since I had ordered. When I pressed her on the bad service she said she would give me 10% off my next order. I said that it would be a lot more appropriate to give me 10% off this order. She said she could not do that the card had already been charged and she would have to void the whole order and recharge it. I won't be ordering from them again.

I just came back from there and I'm delighted with their wings. They have a different taste that is original. I also ordered the chilli cheese fries which was a HUGE disappointment but the wings made it better. I will return with more friends next time for wings only!

This place is small, but packs a punch. Everything is delicious. The ribs, the pulled pork sandwich, the rueben sandwich, everything. the sides are amazing too. the baked beans tasted like I was eating a smokey bbq pit. Personally I loved it. The flavor of everything was so intense. I just don't get why they serve an ordinary piece of white bread with the delicious meats. The brisket sandwich I had was so-so, but every other time I have eaten there, I have been extremely pleased, stuffed, and salivating at the memory of what I just ate. Skip desert. Take home an extra platter of meat instead. You'll be glad you did once you get hungry again. Ever since Bobby Flay went to RUB for tips on a throwdown challenge, I dream of running into him. That is the only thing that could make RUB better.

This place is great! The BBQ is the best i've found anywhere in this fair city and on par with the best in the country. The Ribs and Brisket are my favs. Nice smookey flavor with a great dry rub. The sides a great also. The baked beans and onion strings are the best i've ever had. The place can get realy busy but its worth the hassel.....I'LL BE BACK

I was slightly disappointed with the barbeque here. I went in with high hopes because supposedly the pit master had won numerous awards for his BBQ. I don’t think what I had (pulled pork meat platter) would have won anything. I’ve been to dozens of BBQ places where I left more satisfied with the flavor of the food. The meat was just so bland, as were the greens. The BBQ beans were good and the sweet tea was authentic not the raspberry crap most places try to pass off as sweet tea. The service was great.

I will admit, the food was delicious at Rub. The onion strings were the best I've had...and a single order can feed two. Here are the flaws... 1. I've had better hot link sausage. 2. The brisket was good but I like it a bit more moist. 3. I've had much better bbq sauce 4. The bathroom is kind of icky... I will go back and next time try the ribs or chicken or pulled pork.
