    Didn't like it

For starters, we showed up in suits during lunch, so you would think the waitress would fathom the fact that we would be in a bit of a rush. But she took her sweet time taking our order. Second, i'm wondering how a $9 order of BBQ chicken could not come with a single side. They basically gave me a 75 cent piece of unmarinated chicken that anyone can cook. The kicker - 2 pieces of wonder bread came with it!! It was appalling. The chicken was dry and tasteless, and the 2 slices of white bread were laughable. Spent $12 total on myself, and walked out still hungry.

    Satisfying & Tasty!

Overall, very tasty & satisfying dinner here. First off, I was thrilled they had Frito Pie on the menu (a Texas elementary school lunch fave for me!) But I ended up getting a pulled pork platter instead, w/ baked beans & corn bread as my sides. The pork was scrumptious – well flavored & well cooked, very tasty. Both sauces were delicious, the “spicy” only being mildly so w/ just a tad of a bite. The baked beans were incredible – smoky & hearty. I got the cornbread not realizing they gave 2 slices of regular bread anyway w/ the meal but I’m glad I did, the corn bread was moist, slightly sweet & delicious. My friend got a 2 meat plate, her brisket was tasty but a little dry for me (Hill Country still has the best brisket to me in NYC – moist & yummy, I even think Dinosaur’s is too dry & fatty). I love that there are 2 kinds of slaw – mayo or vinegar based - & hope to next try a sandwich w/ a “sloppy top” of slaw (that is, if I don’t go for the Frito Pie!). Also hope to try the tater salad one day, I appreciate that it’s mustard-based. The portions are huge – I got TWO hearty pieces of corn bread, the pork was a generous amount & we had plenty of leftovers. How anyone can get wings as appetizers, entrees & then fried Oreos boggles my mind but hey, whatever works! Ambiance was casual, service fine & dandy. I’d definitely return!

    Ehhh... Really?

I got take out, they said 15 minutes. Got there in 20, waited another 15, the order before me (take out) was given to wrong person, someone else. and they wound up being out of the item the woman ordered, did not offer to do anything extra. poor woman was hungry and wanted some food (and seemingly out of there!) they refunded her money only for the missing item. After this debacle, the man hands me my order and I go home. Guess what? Wrong Order! Open up the bag and it is missing half of it! No Baby-back ribs, the complete wrong items on a three meat platter. They are sending the missing items over because I called to complain, but there are out of baby backs now and said that the st. loius ribs are better anyhow. In what country? I will never go back.

    Holy BBQ

Walk into this place at dinnertime and expect to wait, especially on a weekend. Not necessarily a bad thing unless you're really impatient. During your wait you are expected to stand among others in a crowded corner by the bar. But you can just go outside and wait. When you are sat down you are given a menu, but a very crumpled raggedy menu (I guess it's supposed to add to the atmosphere as "urban" and "gritty BBQ") although a better menu would have been better, but that's beside the point. Every single thing on the menu just sounds delicious, and they don't make up any special names for their items, they tell you what they have, and I would have it no less. For appetizers I got the BBQ Bacon Chunks and BBQ Chicken Wings. For 8 bucks for the Bacon Chunks, I would've liked to imagine that there were about 15 pieces of bacon chunks, instead, there are about 8 or 9 pieces. Those chunks were like little pieces of heaven, it was just how you would imagine it, a chunk of bacon and fat. Good for the soul, not so much for the arteries. The BBQ Chicken Wings were nicely covered in a spicy sauce and were pretty big in size, comes with your choice of Ranch or Blue Cheese Dipping sauce. The wings were so good, that in fact, I never got to the dipping sauce. For my entree I ordered a half rack of baby back ribs along with some cornbread. My friend got the same but got the onion strings as a side. When our food got to us the first thing I noticed was the smoke ring. The cornbread was soft and tasted how cornbread should taste. The ribs were tender and delicious but most likely you will pour some extra BBQ sauce onto your ribs just for some extra taste. The onion strings are so perfectly perfect, there aren't anymore words to explain it. It has the perfect balance between crunch, saltiness and sweetness. Bottom line, you go there, you get onion strings, no matter what.

    Won't Be Back

Went on yesterday for the first time and was completely disappointed. They did not have "burnt ends" so my boyfriend and I started off with the BBQ Bacon Chunks, under the Appetizers, all i can say is not good, we received 8 tiny/dime size pieces of bacon fat, drowning in grease. Not appealing at all. I ate one piece and that was it, don't waste ur money on the app. My boyfriend ordered the Long End the first 6 ribs off the slab - meatier, which were good. But that's all you get 6 ribs. No sides, no nothing. I ordered the Pulled Pork Meat Platter, not impressed with this. The pulled pork was OK, i had the greens and onion strings as my sides, the greens were good, the onion strings were ok. Ive had better barbecue at some of the cheapy bars in the city. I expected more after reading all the reviews, but honestly would never go back. No Big Deal Here.

    Best BBQ in NYC

Nothing beats their BBQ sandwiches, and the fact that they have the REAL deep fried oreo recipe is amazing as well. I order from this place at least once a week and the service and food never seem to disappoint. I would highly suggest getting the pulled pork sandwich!

    Dont bother with delivery

my food arrived over an hour and a half late and cold. i called them three times and each time they told me the delivery person would be there in 10 minutes, i dont live far at all. i asked them if there was a cell phone available to track the delivery person and they said no-- how would they have known about him "being here in 10 mins?" poor management, excellent food.
