Unfortunately I was looking forward to RUB , but was let down ... I guess I should have stuck with the ribs or pork- but I heard good things about the duck and wanted to try something different- what a mistake that was. My friend had the pulled pork sandwich -it was better than the duck but not the quality I was expecting for this place..I have had better... Chicken tenders were ok - like u would get from fast-food chicken places... Disappointing experience though I would go back to have the ribs or pork and give RUB the true test... and the Oreos were good and greasy...

My boyfriend and I live in Manhattan, and we hail from south of the Mason-Dixon line. When we saw all the praise R.U.B. was receiving for its BBQ, we had to check it out. Sorry to say, we were less than impressed. Everything was partially barbaqued then fried, which made the grease quotient too high. I mean, don't get me wrong, BBQ is supposed to be loaded with fat and flavor, but, come on, where was the flavor? Everything was bland, fried, and unimpressive. There is better barbeque to be found in Manhattan. If you want better barbeque, check out a restaurant in Harlem (I don't want to name names, but it's world's better, and cheaper). Oh and to give you a clue, it's named after a big, extinct reptile.

Great food, especially the chicken (cluck, cluck). Sides are also very good, especially the beans. One meat platter, beans and greens...Git 'er done!

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. Shared a pulled pork and chicken combo with a date (we added a side of ribs for 7 bucks I think), and were very pleased. House sauce and window seats highly recommended. 3 dollar happy hour beer made it a happy ending indeed!

I've been to RUB maybe a half dozen times, and have never had a bad meal. I was alone in the neighborhood, so I got some takeout from there. It was a mistake. The ribs were overcooked and lacked flavor, and they weren't cut up into ribs. I had trouble pulling them apart. Although the fries were freshly prepared, they were flavorless. Not even salted. I will probably eat here again, but will not get takeout again.

I've been to RUB many times but have not had much of what's on the menu. After the first time I had the ribs (both St. Louis and baby back) I had no reason to ever order a different entree. Both styles of ribs are meaty and juicy. They taste great and the smell is awesome. Occasionally I'll order the bbq wings as an appetizer and they are great as well (although I reccommend that you ask them not too use so much sauce). The rib prices may seem expensive but they give you a lot and they are really meaty.

Food reminds me of a Southern street-side joint. I had the one meat - beef brisket (melted in my mouth) and 2 sides - and it's enough for 3 meals. The ribs seem to be a little on the expensive side, but I'm going to definitely try it. I'm telling everyone about this place. Best BBQ in the city! Go here and look no further.
