Large Groups No! / Food Yes!
Once a month, my co-workers and I go out to dinner. We're a pretty large group and bring lot's of business when we dine. This was our first and sad to say last time going to RUB as a group. The food at RUB was very good but I was disappointed that when we wanted to order more food they asked us to move our large group to the bar area. Not recommended for large groups.

Amazing Authentic Southern BBQ
I'm originally from Georgia, so I went in here with high expectations for what BBQ should taste like. Today I had lunch at RUB and it was amazing! I highly recommend it to anyone. We even had an authentic Southern Belle waitress today! Slow smoked/roasted meats and huge sides are all good here. I'll be goin' back!

Better than bacon?
Never had burnt ends before. They were great. A tasty-crispy char covers each delicious chunk. Within the char is mouth melting fat & tender but pleasingly chewy meat. Kind of like the ultimate piece of bacon but beef, I believe. Burnt ends are limitedly available as if the whole menu at times. They sell-out items often.

Great BBQ
I went last night and really enjoyed the place. I got there around 8:00 and was sat right away. I ordered the Burnt ends and my buddy ordered a 2 meat combo of Brisket and Pulled Pork with an add on of Ribs. The Burnt end are out of this world. Smokey and moist. I had a rib and it was also great. The sides were very impressive in taste and size. We had the oniion strings, coleslaw, and the baked beans(best ever). Anyway this place is the real deal, not fancy but all about the Q. Best i have had so far in NYC... :)

Great BBQ, Great Service!
I lived in Texas for a number of years and got real spoiled for great BBQ. I don't care for the overly sweet 'harlem-style' BBQ; so, I was very excited to try out RUB. I had the meat without any sauce (very Texan, lol.) The brisket was smoky, tender and flavorful; the chicken--as it tends to be--was a bit dry; The turkey was moist; loved the pastrami--very peppery; and sampled a bit of the ribs--meaty and delicious. Excellent flavor and smokiness with all the meats. As to the sides, I LOVED the greens (although, I added a few shakes of tabasco to them, as I like my spicier.) I also enjoyed the 'Texas-sized' servings! The service was wonderful. Our waitress was fun, knowledgable, and very attentive. The food came out quickly, and she refilled drinks without being asked -- also loved that she smiled and seemed to be enjoying her work. Great attitude!! We received a friendly greeting when we entered and a nice farewell when we left. As to the atmostphere, the front of the restaurant gets a little noisy; but, the back of the restaurant seemed to be quiet. Overall, these to Texans really enjoyed our experiences! Keep in mind when seeking out a goodt BBQ joint that BBQ means differentthings in different parts of the country. Everyone has their own definition of 'great BBQ.' RUB has my vote for smoky, delicious BBQ!
