After reading New York magazine's glowing review of RUB, I couldn't wait to try it. Although the food was adequate, I much prefer Blue Smoke. Blue Smoke even smells more authentic. P.S. The drinks were not good and took forever to arrive.

you won't find better bbq in NYC than RUB, for brisket, pulled pork, or even ribs - I like RUB's ribs even better than Dinosaur's or Daisy Mae's, despite what's often said about the best ribs in NYC . RUB's ribs, the St. Louis Style ones, have the best flavor and a great meaty texture, they're tops for texture too. I return to RUB fairly often. The brisket at RUB has been especially good of late, the wings are superb - best wing sauce I've ever had - and the bacon and fried green tomatoes which have been added to the menu are GREAT. The baked beans at RUB have been a long-standing favorite of mine, and I've really come to appreciate the cole slaw of late.

I was excited to try this place, as I've heard good things about it. While my husband's pulled pork sandwhich was great, my chopped beef brisket sandwhich was not lean at all. I should have stuck with the sliced brisket or the ribs. Casual atmosphere.

Food was okay. Portions were decent. I've had some great bbq in my life, and even though this one is hella better than Dallas BBQ, it's mediocre at best.

The brisket is insane- nuff said. I take bbq pretty seriously and I can honestly say this is the best sandwich I've had in the tri-state area. And if you're still hungry after that, the fried oreos definitely hit the spot. My ideal lunch, which can be eaten at least 3 times a week: Brisket sandwich, side of beans and mayo slaw, topped off with the oreos. Granted, it may be a little pricey for a sandwich on the small side, but definitely worth it if you're craving some smokey goodness.

The bbq here is awesome, please disregard the negative reviews below as no place is perfect. The sides are mediocre and I don't mind a bit. I've eaten here many times and every time the ribs, pulled pork, burnt ends and brisket are at or near perfect. My only gripe is that the BBQ Bacon appetizer is 8 bucks (too expensive) and the corn bread should be free at dinners.*Sweet Tea refills are free *Onion strings taste better with a touch of bbq sauce
