Third time is the charm? Probably not
Been there twice-- the first time had some of the specialties and they were ok. The second time I went in the staff was so rude that I did not even stay to eat. Will I go back a third time? Probably not....

Real BBQ in NYC
That's what I said; Real BBQ in NYC. When you eat here you can actually taste the smoke and that's what you want when your eating BBQ. They use actual wood, can you believe it? Anyway, I had the brisket which was moist and smoky. St louie ribs, which were cooked perfectly. And for sides we had greens, baked bean(the best anywhere) and the onion strings...killer. The staff was very attentive and kind. I'll be back....

I really like this joint
And that's exactly what it is, a real BBQ joint. This is not a fancy fake place like most of the other bbq in town. The only thing that matters is the BBQ and they deliver big time on that. We had the burnt ends which might be the best bite of bbq i've ever had. We also had the baby back ribs which were cooked perfectly. All the sides we excelent. And for dessert a bacon chocolate chip cookie which is a great combo...salty, sweet and savory..go try...

No Decorum But Food is Slammin...
Bottom Line: This is the best butt I've ever eaten, and trust: I've eaten a lot of booty in my lifetime. The coleslaw (mayo-based) and greens were OK, but the baked beans were simply delish (They did turn me into Gaseous Clay later). I wasn't a fan of drinking from plastic tumblers, but it's a place designed for you receive comfort only from the food, and the very attentive, accomodating and nice staff. I guess we'll have to try dessert someday, but I don't know when that day will come because the portions are just huge. Holla!

One and done
I visited RUB while in the neighborhood and was not too impressed. The atmosphere is casual and laid back which is fine. The TV in the dining room was unusual but I guess they are trying to inject more of a sports vibe, so I get that. The waitress was not irritated by having to explain the types of ribs and how fatty each type is, and that was a pleasant surprise. The ribs come a la carte so the price increases when you add your sides. The ribs we ordered were very heavily smoked. If you like that flavor, then you are set. I, however, felt that they were a bit too smoked. They arrive with no sauce on them, so you can dress them as you feel appropriate. The coleslaw we ordered was the vinegar variety and it was a bit too sharp for our esophoguses. Maybe they should go easier on the vinegar. All in all, the entree was not much to write home about. But if you liked smoked ribs, then you might feel better about the dining experience.

Best Burger and Ribs
I went to Rub on Monday night and they have a once a wk burger special that is GREAT! This is the best burger i have ever had. Its similar to and In and Out burger but with a much more intense beefy flavor. We also had ribs which were great and brisket which was also very good. Oh, Oh, don't for get the wings killer!! Go try...
