My wife and I was there over the Labor day weekend from San Francisco. Where we are from there is no such deli to be found. Not even close. We expected a bit of that NY rudeness but the food was better than expected. Pricey even by San Francisco standards. Quality? The best open faced sandwich that I've ever had. The best cheesecake by far, however, the brownies need some work. Overall, the New York style won me over but I still love the City by the Bay for distinguished taste!

We were in NY for the first time a couple of days ago, and was told if we liked deli food to go to to Roxy's. Well we did, and when we got there, we didn't realize how expensive it was. The only reason we stayed, was we didnt have alot of time to walk around to look for another place before having to catch the bus to the airport. The food was great tasting, but sure not worth $35.00. They give you ALOT of food on your sandwich, but not worth more than $9.00(if that). When you have to pay $25.00 for a sandwich no matter where it is, it ISNT worth it. The servers were not the friendliest group either, but what do you expect for NY. We enjoyed ourselves while there, but wont be going back.

We absolutely LOVE going to Roxy's. It's a tradition with our family every time we go to NYC. The cheesecake is to die for. The price is a little high and the workers are not terribly friendly, but the taste makes up for it. I consider it a typical New York atmosphere, These people work long hours and have to put up with a lot of tourists who don't have a clue. We will ALWAYS go by Roxy's when we are in NY.

The staff is quite rude even by NY standards. The food is good but not worth the price. The food looks a lot better that it really is. The cheese cake is very good but not worth the $9.00 for a piece. Food is served in very large quantities but is just average in quality. Even with the price and quality of food I would probably eat there again but I won't because of the staff.

Great food and great service. The price is a little high but you get what you pay for. We eat at Roxy's evertime we are in NYC and can't wait until the next time. The cheese cake is the best in NYC.

The other viewers who extolled about Roxy's "heavenly" pastry misled us. We ordered Chocolate Cigar and Peanut Butter Mashmallow Brownie for our kids, Blackout Cake and Tiramisu for us. The chocolate cigar was soooooo dry that I felt guilty for giving my 5-year-old that. The brownie had no mashmallow, only peanut butter, when we posed this question after tasting it, the server said that the menu was wrong; here begs the question to the management: why keeping a wrong menu? And the server could have told us when we placed the order. My blackout cake was not fresh, the fudge filling tasted unfresh, my husband's tiramisu was the only one that was edible. Now I know why this restaurant was not busy, even though it was in a busy neighborhood.

Don't go unless you also want to try the most expensive hot dog in New York --- 11 dollars! Oh, the cheesecake, I almost forgot. The truth is --- it is all myth. The cheesecake tastes no different than any other cheesecakes sold in delis. Maybe it was all because of the tourists, exhausted and hungry, singing praises and starting this myth about Roxy's cheesecake! Overall, not impressed.
