Best Deli in Manhattan
Just got back from four exciting days in NY City. Tried four other deli's (Carnegie Deli, Eisenberg's Sandwich Shop, Second Avenue Deli, and Ess-a-Bagel), but Roxy was by far the best. Especially liked their stuffed cabbage. Don't miss their cheesecake--it's worth every calorie.

Keep Walking
It may be convenient to locations around time square, but you are wasting your money. The service is not very good for how expensive it is, and apparently neither is the food. We got some pastries, they were good... but when we looked at the sit down menu and saw they wanted 15 bucks for some eggs and potatoes, we left. Then we got some burgers for our whole party for less than 15 bucks a few blocks away. NYC restaurants have safety ratings on the windows so you can tell right away if a cheaper place is legit. So if you are considering Roxie's for lunch... just keep walking... there is better food much cheaper.

Looked inviting..
Tired from a 20 hour journey due to delays, we went to Roxy as it was literally round the corner from our hotel. It looked inviting from the street. once inside, we were shown to a cramped table upstairs which was rickety and the chairs wobbled!! The service was quick and the food was o.k. nothing special, was disappointed with the coffee as it was luke warm and very weak. The waiter asked a couple next to us to leave as they had only ordered coffee, and he stated they were too busy for just coffee drinkers! was rather rude. The bill for a three egg omelet, pancakes and a hot dog was $78. plus tip .. I probably wouldn't go there again, the place looked tired and in need of decoration. Not a bad experience, but, found better places to eat.

Tourist Trap on Broadway
Went to Mamma Mia last night and we needed to find a last minute restaurant to eat at. Everywhere we looked and tried was fully booked and we would not make the show if we waited. We stumbled upon the Roxy and were guided upstairs to a corner table, where you had to ask the two other tables to move just to sit down. I am from the area for 40 years and not a tourist. However this place was ridiculous. Four of us had 2 sandwiches a salad and popcorn chicken with sodas and the bill was 100 dollars. For that money I would much more recommend other delis close to the Roxy. I agree with a post down below that you are in NY and should expect to spend money for meals. However this place was subpar on everything except the service. Whoever was our waiter, he did his job and got us in and out in under 45 minutes so we could make our show. I would not go back here even if offered a free meal.

Subpar dining experience
This was the first and last time for Roxy's. My wife and I ordered the bacon cheeseburgers. The buns were very soggy and the burgers tasted like theywere made earlier and reheated. The fries were cold and stale! Basically, this was the worst burger I have ever had and it it was very overpriced. I didn't even get a pickle with the meal.

Had fun until we were waited on
My friend and I had been so looking forward to going to a real deli in New York City and we unfortunately picked Roxy's! Our waitress was the little snippet from Hell! She had no personality at all...very, very rude and just an all round brat. After we had finished our so, so meal (nothing like expected it to be) it was time to pay the bill. My husband had left a more than sizeable tip and our lovely waitress said in a very loud voice, "Are you kidding? This is it? Wasn't my service good enough for you?" I would have taken the money back and she would have gotten nothing...my husband (embarrassed beyond belief) gave her an addition to her tip and we left. So ended our exciting trip to our first authentic NY deli.

Cheesecake Connoisseur's #1!
Roxy has been a must for me on every NYC trip since my first discovery. I can't get past the Blueberry cheesecake to try any other flavors. Junior's is nothing compared to this. I've given pieces to NYC native friends, and they won't even go back to Junior's, anymore. No problems with the service. In fact, it was quite friendly.
