We made the mistake of not taking any notice of the bad reviews about this place. As soon as we walked in we should have turned around and walked out, but my old aged mom was with us and tired. We noticed that the tables were dirty, the bathrooms disgusting with what you can imagine on the floor and the food took forty five minutes to arrive. The waitress basically tried to force us to buy the most expensive dish so as I presume to get a bigger tip. She was very rude. The food was cold and the burgers tasteless. The specials were not special in fact horrible. We asked to see the manager, who looked more like a janitor, unshaven, a crumpled shirt with denims on. We said how annoyed we were but he didn't seem to understand properly He tried to bribe us with free cheese cake, which were stale and dry. We thought it was some kind of joke if we didn't know better. How on earth can a place in the middle of New York City be so badly run with such staff. In Texas this would go out of business in a week.

It looks like i have a new spot to just hang with friends and have good comfort food that doesnt leave me feeling guilty for days. You can tell they cook with whole, quality ingredients that remind me of mom's home cooking, so even when i have a burger at least i know it's REAL BEEF (i recommend the California burger because of the fresh avocado) the place is great, i never leave disappointed

The 3 of us were walking out of the touristy area of 8th Avenue and further east when we decided to head to 9th Avenue for brunch. Route 66 was the right spot at the right time. Big menu with all sorts of offerings which worked for us. Everyone got what they wanted and we weren't hit with a huge bill for basic things like omelettes, burgers, and appetizers. Swift easy service worked well for that busy Sunday.

I went from France (and Cyprus) with my family and some friends for holidays in New York. We had breakfast for several days in this restaurant and it was perfect: the food, the service, the atmosphere....The menu for breakfast proposes a big choise of different food and we were totaly satisfied so when i will go back to New York (as soon as possible !) i will go again to Road 66 !

We went to Rt 66 around 5pm on July 4th. Place was filled and rather warm.Spoke to manager about no longer accepting .com certificates and she agreed to give us 15% off bill. Waiter took our drink and food order and that's where trouble began. It tyook a full m25mins to even get our appetizer. Another table (couple) had waited 30 mins and never got their appetizer order. The restaurant got hotter, more uncomfortable, finally food arrived, not bad ribeye steak very good same for bison burger and sides were very good. When bill came waiter forgot the discount and we spoke to another waitress who remedied problem. All together,I would not go here again . Kitchen is too small to handle crowd!

Best Cobb Salad ever...asked for it chopped. I order it about once every 2 weeks, consistent and fresh.
