    outstanding cocktails but overpriced food

cocktails are outstanding! The food is good but overpriced. Service is very good. +++ : they use seasonal products -- : My octopus were too salty they make to difficulty to take the plate back but the chef said it can't do it with less salt... can't or don't want? anyway I could order a new dish but I was disappointed. So conclusion go to the bar order some hummus and enjoy your cocktail

    GREAT Lunch!

Went for the first time today and was very impressed. Atmosphere is amazing...very crisp, spacious, but comfortable chic. Started with the fluke which had wonderful herbs and popcorn on it. My friend had the warm octopus salad which was very nice. Main courses were the chicken salad and the swordfish. Both had wonderful texture, taste and presentation. Between the two courses, the chef sent out a bowl of carrot soup with fennel which was amazing. Portions were very good size for lunch and both of us (who eat a lot) were full. We both had ice tea (one black and one green) and they were full of flavor. I will be back for sure.

    Great, Clean, Flavorful Food

I dined at Rouge Tomate twice, once for dinner and once for lunch. The dinner was a graduation celebration and the RT staff made it a wonderful experience. They presented us with a taster of chilled corn soup, then we had our appetizers, the entrees were flavorful; the portions were great. We also got a mid-meal cantaloupe sorbet to clean the palate...my friends said it was they best sorbet they've ever had. My lunch experience was just as wonderful and it wasn't even for a special occasion. Definitely give this place a try.

    This is a joke

I was very excited about my upcoming visit to Rouge Tomate... and extraordinarily disaapointed. The food is artful.... and it stops there. Incredibly high prices ... and I epected Daniel or Le Bernadin quality. This is food for Barney's shoppers only. Creative, tiny portions with minimal flavor. You won't gain an ounce... no matter what you order. And the decor is far from intime.... it's cavernous and pretentious I was actually annoyed when I left. I felt like the restaurant just charged high prices for poorly seasoned food in tiny portions and decided the consumer would think they were getting something speccial .

    Ikea - Restaurant Style

A celebratory dinner was not special at all when a request for a quiet table was not met and instead we were seated next to a gregarious and loud guest. The ambiance is "ikea" with dimmed lights, very spacious and minimalistc. Service was very poor when it didn't even seem busy at all. The waiter came after we finished our entree to ask if we got our entree. We had to ask for a spoon for the soup entree too. Two types of fresh, crispy bread were paired with a spread that was overpowered by the strong garlic which kept it's mark until after dinner. I much prefer real butter or oil. The chef's complimentary mushroom trio was much too salty, which was surprising in a "healthy" conscious restaurant. We had fish - the black cod was good and moist, swimming in a shellfish broth. The atlantic char was interestingly flavored and matched with tropical fruit on a artistic design of sweet potato puree. The fish was not hot or super tender by itself. We passed on dessert and ended with a burnt and long expresso. Disappointing from the beginning with building hope in entree taste and presentation and ending with a bitter and still garlicky taste

The best health food I've ever had

I was really hesitant to try this place. It sounded like every other 'health food' place out there, and i'm more meat and potatoes than granola and yogurt...but I gave it a shot (thanks in no small part to my wife) and i'm glad i did. Overall I am shocked that so much flavor can come from so few calories, and the courses are actually pretty hefty. The look of the restaurant itself is great, and we loved our waiter and how knowledgeable he was about the menu itself. I don't think I'm about to start shopping at Whole Foods every week, but I will definitely be coming back to Rouge Tomate. Highly recommended!

like eating in an ikea with nice dishes

We wnt with a group of friends and was told to expect the best. We were highly disappointed. The atmosphere was average but way too sterile. The layout is uncomfortable. It tried so hard to feel upper class but just came across over priced and pretentious. The food was too weak to stand on its own, everything had to be paired with peach sorbet or mango chutney. I'm all for the healthy cooking but you are supposed to replace the fat with spices and flavor. Very bland. And the only good dessert was the cookies. Everything else tasted store bought. I wouldn't recommend this place when you're in the best restaurant city in the world.
