How to kill OK food
We went there for dinner last night on a very hot night in New York City. I always worry when i see a restaurant keeping it doors open to let the cool air out in an attempt to woo diners in. That just messes up the AC for those of us actually paying for a meal. We were seated in a nearly empty restaurant at a booth near the bar. The music at the bar suddenly rose in volume and Metallica came on. This was followed by Red Hot Chili Peppers. How is this appropriate for a place that bills itself as "fine Dining"? We requested that this be changed but they ignored us. So no matter what came on the plate they already had 2 strikes. The food itself was OK. I had a lovely piece of Salmon although the mashed potatos were old and tasted like potato flakes. The risotto was thought to be good.

Not as good as I remember.
I went to Rosie O'Grady's two years ago. However, when I went last week, It was not as good as I remember. The service was good but not great. My mother ate with us and she has shellfish allergies. She split the steak and lobster with my sister, but requested that the restaurant but the lobster on a separate plate. When they brought out to food, the lobster was sitting right on top of the steak. Needless to say, we had to send the steak back and get a completly new one. Overall Rosie O'Grady's did not meet expectations. The one good point is it is close to many theatres, making it good for dinner and a show.

I won't be going back
I go to NY a couple of times a year for vacation and shopping trips. I have gone here twice and I won't be going back. The food is fine but the service is poor. The first time I went there they gave us the check just after our plates for the main meal were taken away. We weren't asked for dessert or coffee which we had wanted . I couldn't understand it as it was early and the place was only half full. The second time I went there - and it was only because our first choice was full - when the check came the waitress stood over us until we paid - she was so rude and basically rushed out us out of the place.

Great place for pre-Theatre dinner
Went here at the start of January with my boyfriend. It was our first time visiting NYC and we were going to see The Lion King at 8. Told the waiters we were going to see a show and they were very attentive in brigning things out on time. I had the Fillet Mignon and my boyfriend had the sirlion, they were cooked exactly as we had requested (mine medium, my boyfriends well done). They were lovely, my boyfriend had a taste of mine and said it was fantastic. Then I asked for a dessert menu and they came out with a huge tray of desserts for you to look at. My boyfriend had chocolate cake with cream which he said was really nice and I just had a coffee. Good service and we arrived at the Lion King with time to spare, overall great place and good value!

Subpar
Went before a play and the food was poot We shared about 4 appetizers including the crabcake, oysters, shrimp and a salad. Main course was the salmon and the scallops. Both were mediocre and drowned in butter. What chef would even consider butter for these fish? With all the pre-theater restaurants, do not go to this one.
