    Day And Night

I went to O'Grady's twice on a recent trip to NY with some girlfriends. The first night we went there we were greeted by a lovely waitress named Thalia that told us to avoid the seafood and recommended the steak which we all had, and I must say one of the best steaks I have ever had, this young woman was our waitress for the night and her service was impeccable. However the second night there we were "greeted" by the coldest waitor and rudest barman, the food was cold and the steak we had the night before seemed like it was a completely different restaurant. And to go from having a stunning waitress that was on top of everything for the whole night one night to having the rudest barman and extremely poor service, waiting over an hour the next night was very disappointing. The only way I would go back is if I knew when the polite and welcoming staff are working.

    Patty's Day Must!

Every 2 yrs my sister and I return to NY for the St Patty's day festivities and a ritualistic trip to Rosie O'Grady's. It would not be the same without it. Last year we took a guest with us who enjoyed it so much that he has since returned with friends when in the city at other times of the year. I will continue to return to Rosie's everytime I am in the city. I have always been treated well and the service was fine considering the busy time of year for them that we go. The fact that at any given time there tend to be bag-pipers in the bar just randomly playing only adds to the atmosphere for us. A wonderful place to spend the afternoon.

    NYC Trap

My wife and I stumbled upon this place before our show at Radio City. The host ignored us when we entered. Our waitress gave us one menu then asked us if we were ready to order. She was rude the entire night. Maybe she is unhappy that this is her only job and it sucks. The Reuben was overdone and the steak fried were old. The onion rings were made for dinosaurs. We will never return to this ridiculous excuse for a pub.

Not as good as I'd hoped.

Here for a conference, saw Rosie's from my window and walked down. I've walked past this place a hundred times so thought I'd give it a go. All in all? Just average. Dinner for one was $64, which is probably typical for the city This place is good... and safe, and if that's what you want... enjoy. You're probably happy with the Marriott, too.

    Double edged sword

Noticed the name walking down 7th avenue and stopped in on 8/19/08. Had the best rib steak I've ever had in my life, the crab cake appetizer was awesome as well. My outgoing flight was canceled the next night so I went back for another fantastic steak. Didn't happen, the rib steak was a piece of shoe leather. The waitress (unfriendly) noticed my displeasure and offered to replace it. She advised that the rib steak was "not so good today" and suggested a filet. The filet was fine, nothing extraordinary and the bearnaise was curdled but the crab cake was fantastic again.

    horrid - go elsewhere!

Forget this place - highly overpriced for food and especially wine, food inferior and badly prepared and served - especially the so-called "fisherman's" platter, servers very unpleasant. A real tourist trap - shame on me, I'm a native!
