Great food but..
I have been going to Rosa Mexicano since it opened in 1983. The food is fantastic. The service and atmosphere are warm. But the last time I was there, the portions were so small that after spending $75 on an appetizer, main course, AND dessert, I was still hungry an hour later! I don't care whether or not the prices are high or low--just give me enough food so that I can have a satisfying meal. I will not be returning there unless I hear that the portions have gotten better.

Mole Poblano, Indeed!
Also a big fan of the mole poblano sauce and the chicken enchiladas! I also thought the guacamole here was the best in the city. Didn't try to margaritas, but my friends did and they looked a little small. Great service and atmosphere, though!

I'm In Love w/the Mole Poblano sauce!
Dear God the Chicken Enchilladas w/Mole Poblano sauce is incredible! I can't get enough of this dish; I could eat it for dinner every night. I've dined at other R.M. locations and ordered the same dish, but it's not as supurb as prepared at the Upper East Side location (kudos to the chef). Love the cozy atmosphere (although they've got to replace the chairs at non-booth tables - the backs are incredibly uncomfortable). The pomegranate margaritas are also recommended!

Margaritas are Skimpy
I love paying $10.50 for a 4 oz. margarita - that they fill entirely with ice and barely put any alcohol in - when i go to a mexican restaurant i want a big fat margarita in...a margarita glass- and the food was "okay".

Fillette con Hongos are def. to die for!
I went to Rosa Mexicano this evening. I chose the Fillette con Hongos (before the waiter told me it was the best thing on the menu) and was I pleased! It was delicious. I am looking forward to going back. Also try their guacamole...quite good!

Fillete con Hongos is to 'die for'
The Pomegranate Margarita and guacamole were fabulous, but the Fillete con Hongos was out of this world. The wild mushroom-tequila sauce on it was the best I have ever tasted! My brother and sister-in-law have gone here for many years, and when I visited 2 weeks ago, they said, "try the Fillete con Hongos, and you will never have anything else." Well, I tried it and if I ever have the chance to go back to New York, this is exactly what I will have. I hope you are still there when I return.

Cool Bar, Food Could be better
Have a pomegranate margarita, they are the best in the city. The service is great, I dropped a glass once at the bar and they replaced my drink. The food is not all it's cracked up to be. You're better off going down columbus and finding somewhere. It's overpriced for what you get but convenient to LC if you are going to a show.
