    Best Pomegranate Margarita!

Expensive but really good. Great for any occasion!

    A good and wonderful place!

My family loves this restaurant! It is so bright and spacious---the decor is a delight. The service was lovely and our waiter was calm and patient. The food was absolutely delicious and the wait time was very slight. Yes the meal was expensive but worth it!

    2500 characters isn't enough!

If I reveal too much about my dining experiences here, the manager (who might read this) will know exactly who this is. But that is not a bad thing to happen. I have been going to this restaurant consistantly for a few years now, and it feels like a second home, literally. Usually, my party is the last patrons to leave, or even sometimes the first to arrive for dinner. Hands down the best TABLESIDE guacamole, or even kitchenside guacamole in the CITY. no joke. The staff is so nice. Although I get the same dish everytime, I don't get tired of it. The desserts are equally fantastic. I tried the margaritas and was tipsy after 3 sips. Very potent, but that is what they are known for. The atmosphere literally makes you feel as if you are dining in Mexico. I love when they celebrate Mexican festivals because they have sugar skulls and candles all over the restaurant. There is no hint of Americanization in this restaurant. Authentic Mexican feel. I just don't like going in the winter, making me feel like I'm in Mexico inside, then leaving and walking back into the freezing cold. All joking aside, great place to go for a date, or even if you have a craving for delicious guacamole with chips, or fresh made tortillas. (ok, I definately just gave myself away with that.)

    Too pricey and quite unimpressive

I've been eating at Rosa's now for almost 15 years for various events and meals. I gotta say, I've never been impressed and I'm always shocked when I see the bill! It's always just ok, and nothing to write home about. I think I've had just about everything on the menu and the only thing I highly recommend are the Chile Reannos, oh, and pomegranate margaritas, if you're up to spending $10 for a frozen margarita. Rosa's become a chain just like any other. Such a shame.

Great for Large Groups and Parties

Went here to celebrate a birthday party on a Thursday night with 8 people and had a blast! Everything - from the food, atmosphere and service - was great. I highly recommend the pomegranate margaritas to start. The filet mignon, ribs, and chicken and rice dishes were very good.

    It all depends

I went here on a Friday night with my fiancé and another couple. This review is completely contingent on a few factors, which I will explain as follows: Service – our waiter was gone, and I mean gone, for the majority of the night. Now, this hinges on a critical factor, that being that we didn’t care. We were having a lot of fun talking and if the waiter saw that and didn’t feel like rushing us or interrupting then he was fairly sensitive. His absence was no big deal, BUT, had we wanted to order earlier we wouldn’t have been able to find him because he was nowhere to be seen. So if you're in a rush then the service might be a factor. Food – the guacamole is good and it’s enough to feed four people. The main courses are not as big. I had the enchiladas de mole poblano and while they were delicious I could have eaten a lot more. That being said, maybe I should try not to eat so much and go home bloated. My point being if you're more the type who loves Mexican food and you want to go crazy, this place won’t cut it. But if you feel like being a gourmand and critiquing the subtle interplay of spices and whatnot, then the controlled portion size may be right for you. Cost – 4 main courses, 1 guacamole and 2 pitchers of sangria = $193.00. Not to mention that the two so-so margaritas at the bar totaled $21. Again, this is a contingent critique. If you’re out with friends, maybe a little drunk and you just don’t care, then it’s a fair “value” for what you’re paying. HOWEVER, if you want a better price-to-food/service ratio this is not the restaurant for you. For the type of “refined” Mexican meal that this place purports to offer, you can get more bang for your buck elsewhere. If you’re going out with friends/colleagues/Baltic hookers whom you know to be more thrifty, I would steer clear of this place all together.

    Loved It!

Everything we tasted was amazing! I highly recommend trying it out. A little on the expensive side----but what isn't in NYC!
