    Amazing food & experience

I have eaten here twice and have been amazed by each experience. Yes pricey, but totally worth it. Great for a special occasion. The guac is out of this world as is all the other food. And the service! I left the table for less than 2 minutes and when I returned my napkin was refolded, my water glass was never empty. Wonderful.

Where good Mexican is hard to come by...

Rosa Mexicano is a great version. While the dishes had a little non-Mexican flair, the food itself was delicious. I had a great cobb salad with delicious chorizo and amazing avacado dressing. The blue cheese was also some of the best I've ever had (but very aged, if you don't like aged.... try something else). The service was definitely the best I've ever had in New York and I'm confused why anyone else would think anything else. Order the guacamole--made by your table by interesting and polite young up-and-coming New Yorkers (actors, musicians etc.) The atmosphere is also delightful--bright colors, a beautiful wall fountain and lots of natural light/windows. A great Lincoln Center-area eatery.

    Killer guac

One reason to go - beers and guac in the bar. Case closed.

    Fresh Pomegranite Juice.....Not!

Okay, I'm sure I'm being a little picky here...but on the menu it says, "Freshly squeezed pomogranite juice", when describing their Pomogranite Margaritas. Well, considering the mix comes out of a machine, frozen and mixed, I had reason to doubt this claim. I asked the bartender who had the job of squeezing the poms for juice and he said it comes in a jar from Mexico. hahaha... I don't know...my definition of freshly squeezed juice must be drastically different. Still, I enjoyed my 10 dollar pom margharitta anyway. By the way, skip the bar and get a table. That said, I have to say I ate at Rosa's tonight and had one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The guac was just delicious and made at our table by a very polite and attentive server. Great tortilla chips too! We had the mahi-mahi and the filet mignon with wild mushroom sauce. Yummy! The filet was unbelivable. Tender and cooked to perfection, mushroom sauce was delicious. I can even rave about the green beans and carrots that accompanied my entree! Finished with the Tres Sundae (sorry I can't remember the actual names of these things) which had caramel sauce, candied pecans, etc. and a coffee drink with toasted coconut. Expensive? Some may say so, but I've been to many restaurants where I've spent way more money and gotten mediocre food and/or lousy service. Not here. I'd go back in a second...and order the exact same things!

    Great service & pomegranate margaritas!

My boyfriend and I went to Rosa Mexicano for dinner and had a wonderful experience. The service was EXCELLENT. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our waitress was attentive, but not overly so. Definitely take your server's advice and try the pomegranate margaritas... they're delicious! We started with the shrimp and tuna ceviche -- might be the best I've had here in Manhattan (better than Maya, Zona Rosa) -- not too citrus-y as other reviews had suggested. My boyfriend ordered a special -- mahi mahi with a mango chutney, which he loved. My entree was not as great -- mahi mahi with a mushroom sauce -- mediocre at best. Overall, we had a great experience. The service alone made it a relaxing and enjoyable meal. The only drawback -- the tables are very close together and the tables are very long... I felt like I had to speak louder than normal to be heard.

    Give me a break!

$14.00 for Guacamole? This restaurant is way to expensive for what you get. I guess you're paying for presentation. It was very crowded so we waited at the bar and had an $11.00 margarita in a short glass (ridiculous). Bartender was super nice. Waiter rushed us a bit. Food was mediocre at best. We had a nice time but will never return. It was what is was, that's all.

Great food, overpriced and poor service

While the place is beautiful but the waiter we had was sub par. He was very rude and condescending when I mentioned I didn't like really hot chiles. He also disappeared for long periods on time when the place wasn't even busy. We loved the guacamole (but honestly Cafe Frida's is just even better at 1/2 the price). Rosa has really great food though, just a tad on the expensive side and I'm sure they have friendlier wait staff.
