    Great pre-concert stop

We love stopping there before any Lincoln Center event for some guacamole and drinks. Also, the desserts are divine. True, it's pretty pricey, but then again it's Manhattan and probably aimed at us theatergoers anyway.

    No Way Jose

Sorry ... have had better pomegranite margaritas elsewhere, [doesn't anybody know they're everywhere now?] and the guacomole is good, nicely served in a deceiving stone dish that makes you think there's more than it really is. But what will keep us from going back is the $96 bill for 3 margaritas and 2 servings of guacomole ... you can get a full 7 course tasting menu at top restaurants for that amount! It is actually outrageous...and the atmosphere wasn't all that special...small crowded bar.

    Best Mexican Restaurant in NYC

I live just around the corner and frequent Rosa?s weekly. This place has the best Mexican food in New York, period. As someone just relocated from Southern California, I am a picky Mexican food snob and was depressed to find zero quality Mexican food in the city; until I found Rosa?s. The guacamole is one of the best I?ve ever had, the pork tacos are my favorite thing on the menu, and the pomegranate margarita is excellent. The aesthetics are very cool highlighted by a humongous waterfall in the middle of the place. The service is wonderful; Scott is the main host and one of the best; he is a delight to see when you first walk in and will treat you warmly whether a first-timer or a frequent diner. If you like Mexican food, you have to try Rosa?s.

We arrived late in the City on Friday and we did not have a reservation anywhere...My Husband told our Conceierge we were looking for a great Mexican restaurant Christine said..."Let me stop you right there" Rosa Mexicana...So off we went. We jumped in a cab and arrived about 9pm and the place was jumpin. The bar scene was great and the decor beautiful. We were seated right away upstairs and the views are very nice. The tables are close together but, you still can hold a conversation. My Husband and I ordered the famous Guacamole......UNBELIEVABLE! I was in heaven....My Husband doesn't even like Guacamole and he threw in a chip or two or five:). I was ohhing and awwing so much over the Guacamole and by now I had received my Pomegranet rita, my Husband was starting to get a complex. The food was absolutely out of this world...Who new Mexican food could be fine dining...anyone traveling to NY must go. The service was very attentive without feeling like you were being rushed or that they were pushy. I can't wait to go back!

    Absolutely wonderful!

I've been meaning to go here for years...finally tried it...WOW! What took me so long?! Your review was invaluable... we had the guacamole--out of this world! The way they serve it alone is worth it. Get it. The superb Fillette con Hongos is NOT exaggerated...I will NEVER get anything else! Menu is a little limited for those who are expecting the typical "gringo" mexican cuisine usually found in the northeast, but for true afficianodos, this is the most heavenly place I've found north of San Antonio. Expensive, yes, but the only thing that is not really a value might be the drinks--the food is definitely worth it. The service is the best I've experienced in NYC in a long time!

    Great place

The pomagranate margaritas are a revelation. The guac is the best in town, period. The service is tops. The crowd is awesome. In a particularly lame neighborhood.

One of the few good places in the area

With so few good restaurants to choose from in the area, this one stands out as being very good. The other reviews have said it - great guac that's hard to surpass anywhere else. The modern atmosphere is airy and open. You don't feel rushed (even pre-theater) by the competent wait staff. There are quite an number of good appetizers and entrees. This restaurant is certainly one of the best Mexican places in the city.
