Awesome food!
One if the best Mexican cuisine I've had! And Rosas has it all... The atmosphere, the best staff, and better food!!

The Rosa Mexicano Review
I am not a fan of Mexican food, though I love rice and chips. I think Rosa Mexicano is a great restaurant and they cook guacamole in front of you. My favorite Mexican dessert is churros. I think the wall looks really pretty when you go upstairs. There’s water running down and clay models of people diving down. The parties there are really loud which I don’t appreciate. I thought the restaurant had really good food. It was pretty expensive. It took a little bit long for them to serve the food for some small things. I appreciate that they bring a lot of iced tea so you can pour yourself more and they had a lot of simple syrup for the iced tea. But overall I thought it was a great restaurant.

Pleasant surprise
Went with son and wife on recent visit and were pleasantly surprised. Lovely place with great food. Very upscale Mexican food. Would definitely return.

Excellent food and service but some chinks in the armor
We were met with a mob scene at the reception desk and roundly ignored even though we had reservations. Once seated, however, the service was impeccable and the food well prepared, nicely spiced and colorfully presented. Drinks were another matter and the Margarita was underpowered and overpriced--a real ripoff. It could have been a perfect dining experience.

Spicy or not Spicy
Great guacamole, great atmosphere but spicy main dishes were not so spicy. A little bit disappointed.

Go to this one (the original), not the others!
Just want to note that people seem to be reviewing ALL of the Rosa Mexicanos on this page...when the address is only for the one on 62nd st. This is the original location, and for my money THE BEST. Don't be sucked into frequenting the one in union square where the service is mediocre and it's full of tourists and mommies with baby carriages. Go to the first one that retains the air of high-level Mexican ambiance. I live in Spanish Harlem and nothing there can compare to the RM on 62nd street. Excellent margaritas, guac, tequila-enhanced meats, etc. Don't go to the Lincoln Center one as it gets WAY too crowded in the tiny bar area and they have trouble keeping restaurants...it's way too corporate.
