Delicious Food, Trendy Atmosphere!
My boyfriend treated me to a delicious birthday dinner at Rosa Mexicana this past weekend! Upon walking into the restaurant, we were immediately impressed with its trendy and colorful atmosphere. We were seated fairly quickly, but I did notice that patrons without reservations were willing to wait an hour and a half for a seat ... it was clear that the food was worth waiting for! We started our meal with frozen pomegranate margaritas and guacamole prepared in front of us. For our main courses, I indulged in the Budin de Pollo (layered tortillas with pulled chicken and tomatoes, topped with LOTS of cheese) and my boyfriend enjoyed the Enchiladas Suizas topped with a tomatillo sauce. And for dessert he surprised me with the mouth watering Tres Leches cake, complete with a candle! After this great meal, I am eager to return for more ... and I encourage you to do the same!

a more expensive chipotle
We went there 2 days ago with my friends and were VERY disappointed. all these pepole writing about how good the food is and drinks, have you ever tried good mexican food? The only highlight was the guacamole, prepared tableside. Drinks - BAD. And very overpriced. I got a margarita on the rocks, one of my favourite drinks, The bartender used house tequila for the drink and charged me 9$. .. The drink was obviosly bad..Later on I switched to the beer, seemed like a safe choice..Food? I couldn't even finish my tuna salad ( 22$), and this is my favourite dish and i was starving. My friends didn't like their food either... The bill came to almost 200 dollars, SO NOT WORTH it..... The whole atmosphere is cheesy, it's like Chipotle/ Ruby Foo's, maybe OK for out-of-towners, definitely BAD for New- Yorkers who know good food... The place feels like a chain restaurant, I know it has 3 locations in NY and I am VERY surprised my it's popularity. Service was good though.

fun place, overpriced
This is the best location out of all their rests. in the city. If you've never tried Mexican before it's ideal as they make it a fun experience. The bar atmosphere is great and the margaritas are delish. The food is so-so and way too expensive for what it is but most likely you've had so many margaritas you won't care. If you're an outer towner it's a fun place to go but if you're a foodie seeking the best Mexican cuisine there are better places than this.

Dining is an adventure
I have visited Rosa Mexicana (18street location) at least four times over the past year and I have never been disappointed. From the ambiance, to the service to the food - all have been well received by my friends and me. Meal presentation is a delight. The food is always tasty. Service is within reasonable time. The only negative i have is when the waiters enquire whether you'd like to have the avocado treat, they should also mentioin that is it extra charge. I was surprised the first time when i ate there and the bill arrived, i have seen other people surprised when the bill arrives, there is the charge for the avocado treat - which everyone seems to love. Again, i think eating at Rosa Mexicana is an adventure in food - an enjoyable one - from the onset to the end.

yummy! But pushy servers...
Make sure you check out the menu beforehand to figure out what you want to order because by the time the waiter gets a drink in you, he'll be milking you for all you're worth. The food is average, the drinks are average, but the atmosphere is AMAZING, so you'll likely feel a bit swept up by it all. Trust me, this place is not worth the price. And definitely not worth the dessert menu.

Great atmosphere
Hip atmosphere makes this place hard to get into on Saturday nights. Make a reservation. A bit on the pricey side by the guac is great and they make it in front of you. - Noga Rosenthal

Oh Yes!!
We came from Toledo Ohio hearing that this one of the restaurants we had to go. We showed up at 5:00 on a Saturday for just drinks and appetizers. We were sitted outside immediately and commenced on enjoying the well heard of guacamole and others edibles. Our drinks were out of site and we ordered a second helping of everything. Our waiter was great and he took time to show us how to make the guacamole ourselves and we ended buying two pistles and morders as well as seconds. I recommend this place to anyone.
