    Best Pad Thai Ever

here I always get my food to go, so can't really comment on the service. Their decor and the loud dance-music gets to me, I don't roll like that. However, their special pad thai (bangkok-style) is the best. If you ask for the special pad-thai (ask for extra dried shrimps in it, it's free last time I checked), they will package it in a egg-white pocket, and in large quantity. They use a thinner kind of noodle, and the spices and the aromas are spellbinding. Best pad thai ever (but make sure you order the Room-Service pad-thai, it's different from their regular pad thai.

    Really Good for the Money!

Amaziong ambiance, really good taste and amazing cocktails. At the end, the price was really great, I was broke and I didnt want to spend a weekend in NY without eating in a fancy place..this was fancy, realy great food, nice wine, and really great price!!!!!!

    A new favorite has arrived....

Well then-heh-that's all I can say! I have been wanting to go to Room Service for several months, and finally did myself a favor by eating lunch there this past Wednesday. While sitting in my weird, plastic purple chair and gazing up at the chandelier and around at the tables hidden by what look like doors in a hotel, I started off with green vegetable dumplings, all five of which were tender, moist, and delicious. I then moved on to one of the daily specials: grilled shrimp, eggplant, and rambutan fruits, all of which were bathed in a dreamy, indescribable sauce, decorated with a flower and what was clearly a care, but not a pretension, for good presentation. My friend had the Room Service version of Pad Thai which, with its mountain of noodles entangled with seafood, was equally as delightful. Finally, I finished it all off with their Thai pumpkin flan, which dreamily settled my tastebuds for the day with its warmth and mellow flavor. I left the restaurant in complete contentedness.

    Fabulous Restaurant!

I got the Lotus Seeds Massaman and it was soooooo very delicious. I tried to order it w/ chicken instead but the waiter said he couldn't do that. However, it wound up exceeding my taste buds' expectations. Other people loved their food, but I believe that mine was the most delicious. They had pretty good drink specials too.( Buy one beer get another one free.... and half off mixed drinks). The decor is extremely kitsch which I tend to like. The chairs are very mod, and their is a huge crystal chandelier in the center of the room. The only thing I didn't like, but is quite common in NYC, is that the tables were too close together and I had to move my giant behind across our neighbors table to get in and out of my seat.

    Value

The techno music can be overlooked if you look at the place for what it is: an afforable, tasty, local restaurant with a great happy hour and a decent crowd. Food is above average for the neighborhood. Decor is gimmicky but unobtrusive. Not the place for a romantic dinner, but recommended for most other occassions.

    weekly routine

I dine here at least 3 times a week, lunch and dinner, it is my weekly routine. They have the best lunch special prices, consistently delicious, generous portion. I strongly recommends the Room Service Pad Thai (prepared in the authentic way, pad thai wrapped in egg omelett), and spicy basil fried rice. Also, best thai ice tea and thai ice coffee in town. Everything is delicated plated, service is great, and the decor is chic. I have tried so many thai restaurants in the city and still think that Room Service is the best. I've recommended so many people to this place, and they all seem to keep returning there time after time.

    Not bad for the money

Went there for dinner with two friends. The fried Calamari appetizer was a tempora style but with a light batter. Very good. The steak salad was also tasty . For our main meal we received two of our dishes quite a bit before the The Catfish dish came out. It was cold and quite tough. The sticky rice and fish had to be cut with a knife!!! On the other hand, The Pumpkin Curry Chicken was delicious and so was the Mango Chicken. We were in a hurry so we didn't send the fish back but should have.
