    Beautiful Thai

Passed by on our way home from dinner and could not help but stopping in for a drink. The decor was beautiful with crystal chandeliers and a very cool vibe. Staff is all trendy and quicky and because we were at the bar we chatted and they were really sweet too. Went back that weekend for dinner and we were pleasantly surprised! There are tons of Thai places in the area that are all very good and this one equalled or surpassed in food but was actually a nice place to eat also and not a hole in the wall/delivery place. All in all, we really liked the food, atmosphere and service and will certainly go back!

    Poorest Thai Food I've Had

Ordered the spare ribs and the red curry. Spare ribs were still cold in the middle, the red curry was a watery mess with gray chicken! Avoid

    Poor service

I ordered delivery, it took 90 minutes to come, and it was predictably cold when it arrived. When I called to asked why it was taking so long, the guy told me he was busy and hung up on me, twice. Not put me on hold, but actually hung up. The food was decent but no better than any other Thai place. I am never ordering from here again.

    Great food for the value

This trendy restaurant serves great food at reasonable prices. I've tried a wide variety of choices on the menu and, while I do have my favorites, not once have I been disappointed. The decor is chic and has a night-club like feel. My only criticism is that it can be a little too noisy for quiet dinner conversation, but if that doesn't bother you then I highly suggest a try. I have also picked up but not tried delivery. If you're into cocktails, their classic mojito is awesome.

Like the restaurant, delivery not so great

I've dined at both locations a few times and having recently moved within delivery range, I ordered my favorite thing: the Room Service Pad Thai. I don't know if this was a fluke, but it was just disappointing! Way too much egg, which was completely burnt. The seafood was way too overcooked and the mussels sandy. The noodles were dry and it just tasted burnt! I can't believe they'd let something like that out of the kitchen. Looks like I might have to find a new place to get thai take out. Too bad.

a little loud but GREAT food and low prices!

this review is for the room service on 9th ave & 48th. my friends and i were walking around the area last night looking for some good thai food. we passed room service and didn't even realize it was thai, but the decor was kinda cool so we stopped in and it turned out it was! we weren't sure how good it'd be since it seemed too trendy (from my experience, hole-in-the-wall thai places are the way to go) but the few small places we stopped into were full (we were a party of 6), so we went back to room service and decided to give it a try. i ordered the sauteed spicy basil tofu and it was delicious -- and CHEAP! less than $9 for a dinner entree, amazing. my only complaint about the atmosphere was that the music was a bit loud, but that just added to the trendiness i guess. all in all a great place to eat and i'll definitely be back here for big parties since they are very accommodating of us!

    Poor Service

Although we were warned about the poor service, we tried Room Service anyway. The service was poor. The main dish (for a party of five) was served individually over a 5 minute period. The first person's main dish was served with the appetizer. Our drink order was wrong, and we received no response to our request for additional water (we gave up on our other drink orders). Although I rarely, if ever, do not leave a tip, I did not want to reward the service in any way. The server chased us down the street (over 100 yards away) and started a screaming fit over the no tip check. The server spent over 3 minutes (on the sidewalk) yelling and screaming about not receiving a tip. I suspect even poor service warrants some form of tip, however Room Service's service warrants nothing. I wish I had listened to the numerous other negative service reviews for Room Service. There are too many good establishments to waste money on competent food and poor service. Find a more reputable business for your dining.
