My wife and I had walked by many times. Looked like the old school Italian and daily specials looked great. What a mistake. The veal Milanese was barely edible. Tough, heavily breaded and extremely chewy. The risotto was decent in flavor. Half a glass of wine was $9. The kicker was the listless service from the poorly dressed single service waitress. We understood why when the bill came with an automatic 20% tip added. Why work or care if you know you are going to get a 20% tip no matter what the quality of food or service. We left cash and refused to pay the tip. We were confronted on this. After all, the menu states 20% tip. The tip is suppose to be the diners' expression, last comment, of how the food, service and atmosphere was. It is earned not a given. Do not recommend this place at all. If you are in the area go somewhere else. In these times we vote with our dollar and do not recommend this restaurant.

Wow....stay away from this joint. 20% gratuity added on, is that even legal? Service is slow and very unfriendly, and so nonprofessional. Food is ok, but who can really mess up a simple pasta dish?

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the atmosphere, and conversation with our waitress at Rocky's last weekend while on a spring getaway to NYC! My fettuccine cabanara was excellent-just enough cream and terrific flavor- and my husband enjoyed his veal. The service was excellent-both waitresses were attentive and worked well as a team. We will certainly return and recommend Rocky's to our other Maine friends headed to the city!

I've been coming to Rockys for years, I have never had a bad meal or felt unwelcome by any staff there. They have gone thru many changes with the menu thru the years but the food never disappoints and I will always choose Rockys over any Little Italy restaurant.

The food is horrible, the spaghetti carbonera is so dry and with no cream at all. The waitress did not smile once and was kind of annoyed that we even came in to the restaurant. She actually looked like she just woke up. But she gladly added the 20% gratuity charge for 2 people. Best advice stay away from this place.

As a long time New Yorker...with 26,000 places to choose from to eat, I choose Rocky's again and again. I'm taking my best client there on Thursday for a holiday lunch. Great Artichoke app..Great Rissotto...salmon cooked to Italian perfection...the BEST espresso martini in the city. Tourists sometimes make the experience so fun....they come from everywhere! Sometime toursits make it a challenge...YIPES...have patience people..this is a great place to hang..and to talk..softly! If you want Ordinary ...go to Lombardis and stand online for ordinary. I take my family, friends, girlfriends...and yes even dates to Rockys...if men don't like it, they won't see me again..LOL!

I've eaten at Rocky's several times over the years. I prefer to eat at the outside seating when available. Whenever seated inside the staff is very loud and it's as if I'm not there trying to enjoy my meal. I would not call it quaint as others have. The food is good but definitely over priced. I would recommend the pasta dices and stay away from the pizza. Rocky's is not a fancy restaurant. It's a dive with pretty good food.
