    Mexican Fusion

The food at Rocking Horse is what i like to call, Mexican fusion. You will not find your typical tamales and tacos here. Instead, your taste buds will enjoy a mix of Mexican with an American flare. Even the atmosphere is trendy and atypical to the Mexican restaurant experience. Try any of the dishes available. They will not remind you of the taco truck on 14th street.

    Healthy Mexican

Great healthy Mexican food. Had a terrific wild mushroom quesadilla that was light and earthy at the same time. Also great, a special chicken soap with a milky broth with mild anise flavor. The salsa they served with their nachos was a mild chipotle that was smoky and happily lacking in bitterness. Very pleasant service--attentive without being smarmy. Nice atmosphere. Lively and a great neighborhood spot.

    great Mexican

I grew up in New Mexico and seldom find a Mexican restaurant I like. This is a very good one, with both excellent versions of classics like budin Azteca and carnitas and new ideas like various fish.

    A great place to unwind

I was impressed with the quick service and friendly staff. My drink was made just right. The salads are fantastic and the rest of our meals were wonderful. The meats and seafood were cooked perfectly. I can't wait to go back.

Diverse flavors light up your tastebuds!

Was just at Rocking Horse with some friends. Although we had a wait a few minutes for a table - the restaurant was packed on Friday night - the host and bartender were gracious and gave us updates on when our table would be ready. While waiting, we had some excellent drinks at the bar...my mojito was refreshing and my my friend's passion fruit margarita was delicious. At dinner, our service was fast and much of the time, invisible in that my water glass was filled before I even realized that it was half full, etc. Highlights of our entrees: the tuna with wild rice cooked medium rare (the chilli on the tuna and sweet sauce with the rice complimented each other beautifully), the rich flavors in the mushroom quesadilla (not at all greasy like you might expect from a Mexican restaurant), the chicken enchiladas that came with a tangy pomegranate sauce rather than a typical spicy red one, and the key lime pie for dessert. We all really enjoyed our food and appreciated our server, Kristin, who was helpful and very cheery. Definitely recommended - just make reservations!

Mexican Food for the 21st Century!!

Rocking Horse dishes up a great twist on traditional Mexican fare. Each entree is meticulously put together, and offers a variety of flavors, all well balanced yet surprising. Who knew chicken enchiladas and pomegranates mix so well? A wide variety of excellent margaritas and cocktails (I had 3.... I think) perfectly complements the lively food.

The least bland mexican food ever.

Very trendy and cozy atmosphere. The service was ridiculously fast, and always friendly. Don't even get me started on the drinks.... The tortilla chips are authentic and delicious, the only problem is eating too many and not being able to enjoy the incredible entrees. Every dish is unique in some way and does not give in to the stereotypes of mexican food. A pleasure. Nice location too!
