Great fun at night!
The Rocking Horse is quite a walk from Penn Station, but it was the ending to a wonderful day in Chelsea. I came with a friend and from our first drink to our last bite of dessert, it was a fantastic experience. Unlimited chips and salsa come for the table and the menu of drinks comes in a booklet of its own. Margaritas are their specialty, and there are many fruit flavors to customize your own with. The dim-lit atmosphere is very appealing and there is outdoor seating that I heard is very hard to make reservations for. The service is efficient with knowledgable servers that can help interpret the bi-lingual menu and handsome bartenders that are very polite and friendly.....did I mention handsome? It would be wise to call ahead in advance for evenings on the weekend because it's regularly crowded. A good time and good eats are inevitable.

Royal Treatment
A friend took me to Brunch on Saturday, and it was sooo good, I went back tonight. Brunch was a steak and egg wrap with a side of guac.-yummy! Tonight I had an exceptional salad of frizzled greens topped with fried calamari and chorizo sausage in a citrus dressing. Just enough spice to be good Mexican cuisine without being too spicy for this 'Yankee gringo. Tonight's dinner companion had a delicious sweet corn soup - great! The waiter, noticing my discomfort with spice had the kitchen put the salsa Verde on the side of my main course, a chicken breast with grilled veggies. Wise choice on the waiter's part and good choice for me. I finished off with a postre, dessert of coconut flan with a hint of lime and some candied pistachios. The lime and candied nuts made this staple of Mexican desserts just different enough to make it worth going off the diet for (I'm trying not to eat carbs, and everything was fine until... well, the lime infusion was worth it) The room is very comfortable, and I enjoy the front of the restaurant being open to the sidewalk, with a few tables outside. Very pleasant, very nice. The charming gentleman who sat us was considerate, and took us to the back, away from the noise of the street, so we could talk. Sometimes the buzz of the street is great, but not for me tonight. The waiter did a good job, but the busboy was extremely attentive, which won many points with me. Even though the room was nicely filled with contented patrons, he found time to attend to everyone in his section with chips and salsa, water and clearing. Over all a very good experience, worth the price and delightful dining. I expect I'll be going back soon - Hope to see you there!

A Chelsea Must!
If you're looking for the ultimate " Chelsea/NYC" experience, this is the place for you. The service is fast and friendly and the food is top notch. Home made chips and salsa served to every guest gets you in the mood for this terrific Mexican cuisine. Ordering their signature Margaritas are a must, and don't pass on the guacamole. Take a date or a bunch of friends, I guarantee you'll enjoy the food, service and atmosphere!

Great drinks & eats in Chelsea
I went for the first time and for starters - the margaritas were excellent. Good portions as well! The ambiance is festive. A great place to go with friends. There are also tables in the back so it's bigger than you first think it is which i find to be a big plus. I highly recommend the Quesadilla hongos apps. Friendly and attentive staff make it all the more enjoyable. Will be back for sure.

RHC Really Rocks
Wish this place was on Long Island, near home. The food was so terrific that I've been there three times in the last 4 weeks. The scallop special I had one night was one of the best meals I've ever had in a restaurant: crispy sea scallops over lemon risotto with asparagus and mushrooms. Not your typical Mexican fare. And they make killer margaritas. Servers were charming and attentive - and the attractive room has a sexy vibe. Definitely go!

Rocking Horse Will Not Disappoint.
Things got off to a shaky start. The maitre'd had absolutely no record of a confirmed reservation on a busy Saturday night. My companion and I were looking to see how Rocking Horse would recover and recover they did. They service was attentive and friendly. They were honest about dish faves and didn't push us to pricey items. We had a chicken burdin appetizer that was a lovely pie-like dish of chicken, sauce and cheese. Hmm. The steak carnitas look small and delicately but end up packing a nice punch when it comes to being filling and flavorful! Atmospher is extremly stylish without being intimidating. The red walls create a sexy Southwest-meets-Chelsea decor. Overall, Rocking Horse is a great place to soak up the best of the Chelsea scent for a post-Pride-parade brunch or a fun Chelsea birthday dinner. Thumbs up. Way up!
