Since we go the first time, like five years ago, this place became our favorite: delicious food, excellent service. It's a small place but this is not a problem for us. Birthdays celebrations are the best I've ever seen.

For appetizers we had the ham /cheese croquette, cod fritters and tamal, all of which were solid. Entrees were chicken/seafood paella and pork Milanese, all of which were amazing. The service was flat out the best I ever had. Every waiter/waitress (not just the one assigned to our table) made sure to not only fulfill every request with a smile, but even going so far as to telling me I was ordering too much (which he was 100% correct). Every staff member was competent and took initiative. Cannot begin to explain how impressed I was with the service, not to mention the food! Rincon criollo is a real gem and I will be back here many times more!

Let me start by saying the only downside to this place is that its small and the wait times are ridiculous sometimes. But it is worth it once the food comes out!! Oxtail ropa vieja vaca frita all made just like my sister in laws Cuban grandmother makes and that woman is old school. Last time I went had their version of chicken cordon blue it was in a garlic sauce and was so good I couldn't stop eating even though I was ready to burst. The chicken was so tender and so full of ham and cheese, with some roasted peppers in there. Took my hubby there, he's from Puerto Rico and VERY picky about rice and beans he LOVED them. Only thing we weren't crazy about was the tostones they were a little thicker than were used to but hey who cares when you throw a little ropa vieja on them. All around great I plan on going there at least once a month and working my way through the menu!! And the staff is great, was there on a Saturday night and had to wait over an hour the waiters brought out ham croquetas for us hungry souls to snack on while we waited. Very friendly they make you feel like your in their homes even when your seated. And they don't rush you which is a big plus for me. If latin comfort food is your thing you have to try this place!! Just try to go on a weekday as the weekends get a little crazy and parking around there gets a little crazy. Other than that Rincon rocks!!

Cuban restaurants in New York are either that trendy, faux thing with high prices, attitude and food that is just not part of our menu or slop houses with mirrors, greasy foods in steaming vats with blaring and simultanous televisions to give it that real ghetto feel. In either case, they are not owned, operated or patronized by Cubans. New York is just not Miami where real Cuban restaurants abound. But this little Creole nook istands apart because it is the real deal. The only thing more Cuban than this place is my mother's kitchen, which is not open to the public. These Cubanitos consistantly serve up well priced, quality food with pride and gusto in this right but confortable place. This is why it's almost always packed. There is just ONE thing I dislike about Rincón Criollo: NO CREDIT/ATM cards.

Hubby and I are picky when we go out to eat since we both cook well at home. Had seen this place on Triple D and was dying to try it out... well it was amazing. Some of the best food we have had in a long time. We tried everything from apps to dessert and got a great meal for our money. I was so glad I got my husband to go into the heart of queens to try this place out. He wanted to go back again tonight it was that good. From their service to the atmosphere to the quality of food, we would give everything a five star without a doubt. Had Ropa Veija and Roast Pork... both excellent. Tried the ham croquettes for apps and they were fantastic. The Sangria was off the hook. Overall an amazing experience and looking forward to going back soon.

My husband Ramon who is Cuban native born. Was weary about going to a Cuban Resturant because they all claim to be authentic. I prayed to God for a place that is not to far that served real authentic Cuban food and with a Cuban atmosphere. Well God answers prayer and I thank God my husband and little daughter were wiling to try a Cuban Resturant again... They passed the test we all were so spoiled rotten and pleased with the whole evening dinner . The food ,owner, waiters, customers and yes the birthday surprises were all a delight. We are going back very soon with family and close friends from church. God Bless

Wow! Was passing through the area and decided to get my hands on some great local ethnic food - came here based on high reviews and it did not disappoint!!! Food 5 stars - Ropa Vieja with sweet plantains and moros y cristianos, oxtail stew with yuca con mojo - Wow! Also had the criollo app which was great, but did not pair well with out food. Value 5 stars - Huge portions and we paid less than $40 for the whole meal (take out). We stuffed ourselves and had enough food leftover for breakfast the next morning. Service 5 stars - smiles from start to finish. Incredibly friendly staff. We had our food in less than 20 minutes. Atmosphere 3.5 stars - small, narrow dining area, but this in no way detracts from the experience. Great decor for Cuban vibes. Joint was packed at 7:30 on a Friday. Hands down best Cuban I've ever had and is now in my top 5 NY restaurants. I live in Greenpoint/Williamsburg and I can't wait to come back! The commute is more than worth it. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
