loved it!!!!
what a great place to enjoy some new foods, great shochu, & catch up with old friends. the sushi was delicious but the cooked food was just amazing. the atmosphere was to be expected in my opinion. many of the authentic asian restaurants we frequent are not decorated in the usual flashy american style. we were there for the freshness of the food not the paint. i thought the service was up to par, there when needed but not over bearing. i would definitely return since we only sampled a fration of the dishes that i would like to try. not to mention the selection of shochu and cocktails available.

A nice place to hang out
I have been going here for about five years. I have never been disappointed. The decor is not that great, but you do feel like you are in Japan. The sushi is fantastic. It is a little pricey but def worth it. Oh for NYC the beer prices are not bad at all.

Great Food, Subpar Service
The food is always amazing, the service is amazingly poor. Everytime! They bring all the food out in one shot, with no regards to how it was ordered. They forget things regularly. I love the food enough to ignore the poor service, but expect it to be poor.

Simply Amazing
The fact that most of the visitors are Japanese ex-pats is always a good sign of the authenticity. I've enjoyed their food in several occasions and besides being the best sushi in NYC (that I've tasted) - it is by far the BEST VALUE in the city. I encourage everyone to try and indulge in their amazing menu. EVERYTHING was tasty. Enjoy

Great Izakaya(Japanese Pub Restaurant)
This is truly an authentic Japanese style Izakaya. Today's specials are not cheap but very fresh! They tend to sold out very quickly. Cooked foods are also very good - super wide variety of selections. Its entrace does no look great, and decor may need update soon, but this is a place true izakaya funs go.

Amazing
Title of review says it all, this place is just amazing. Nice to go with friends to just hang and munch on appetizers. Vegetable tempura and their chicken are yummy!

Great Value - Real Izakaya
This truley is a typical Japanese Izakaya(Pub)!. Extensive food menu and today's specials. Specials are all fresh and sold out quickly. Not cheap, but not expensive either. Service is really good and they are eager to help. This is not a place for people who are pursuing non authentic Japanese good. This is not Nobu and there is no Dragon roles etc. Try cooked food please!
