Not worth trying
The food was mediocre, the service poor. Overall dissapointment.

A Gem in Hell's kitchen
Whether authentic Brazilian or not, this place offers outstanding platters for good prices. Much better eating in, then taking out. ENJOY!

Not good
Ordered take out after reading the reviews. Either it was an off night, the chef has changed, or the people ordering were at a different restaurant. We ordered the roasted chicken and the beef stew. It was almost inedible. The stew meat was tough, the gravy without any flavor. The chicken was also tough and chewy. Black beans lacked any taste. And it is not inexpensive.

Perfeito!
My girlfriends and I adored this place! The food was sublime and the ambiance was great for a small, intimate gathering (especially given the fact that the restaurant is quite small). We ordered the Chicken Ipanema and the Chicken Bossa Nova and both were spectacular. The white rice and black beans didn't disappoint either--they were both quite tasty. Next time, we vowed to order the pao de queijo as an appetizer (we were glad we didn't this time around because we were stuffed by the end of the meal). Compliment the meal with a refreshing Guarana and you're golden! I definitely recommend this place and everything it has to offer.

a neighborhood classic
This restaurant is tiny, so don't try to get in with a crowd! There is a reason it's always bustling. Portions are generous, the service is always friendly, and there are almost always Brazilian customers who I don't think would bother if the cooking had not been like mama's. Try the bobo de camarao!

NOT Brazilian style
I was there for lunch and was really disappointed. Although the owner and the waiter were Brazilian nationals and should know better, none of the options follow the Brazilian tradition of rice+beans+1 side +1 main course. The food was bland and definitelly missing something. I would have gladly paid 1 or 2 bucks more for a complete meal with a side dish, but ordering separated would cost another $3-5. Not worth going to 9th Ave.

I love this place
Highly recommended. My co-workers really were excited when we feasted here. Can't wait to go back!
