I made reservation about one week in advance. Upon our arrival, we were greeted respectfully, seated quickly. Introduced to our server by our host. Our server was very nice and respectful. The food was great served nice and hot, have no complaints! Would recommed to anyone!

I've been at this place sevral times, the steaks were fine until the last time I went that they couldn't get it right and they were insisting it was done well. I ordered medium rear and the steak that I got was dry and wasn't Juicy at all, it wasn't red from the inside. Once it came back it was cold and the 3rd time it came back it was just burned from the outside but still cold from the inside. I ended up paying for the steak that I didn't eat and the management never thought that they were the cause of the problem. If you're into loud music restaurants that the service inst professional and the food MAY be fine so this is the place.

Friends who have been there before, were eager to share the Ricardo's experience with us. By the time we left, those friends were apologizing to us and tipping minimally. We were on time for our reservation for six people, but our experience was nearly exactly as described by the previous reviewer. When a table in the back finally cleared and we requested it, we were told that it was being saved as part of a reservation for twenty people (who seemed never to show up). As it was bitterly cold outside and warm within, we agreed to be crowded around a table for four across from the grill. Because the aisle between us and the grill was so small, hanging winter gear on the back of one's chair was impossible, and we were forced to make a mountain of our coats on the floor near our table. Getting an adequate number setups and Ricardo's "famous" bread basket took more than half an hour (perhaps the busboys had trouble believing that they would be serving complete dinners at that tiny table.) The restaurant was out of two of the entrees ordered. Steak dishes were good enough, but a pork chop too thin to be cooked on a grill was tough to (even with a steak knife) cut and chew. Desserts sounded better than they tasted, but, surprisingly, espresso and coffee drinks were not that bad.

We had 5 in our party and made reservations almost 3 wks ahead of time. We even got a call at 5pm to confirm our 9pm reservation. We arrived on time and were told that it would be 15 mintues (no problem there) since the people who were at our table were getting ready to leave. After 20 miinutes we asked about our table, and was told another 10 minutes. (ok, we could wait another 10 minutes). After another 15 we asked again and were told that they didn't know when our table would be ready, the people who were at our table had a 5pm reservation and arrived late and didn't seem to be in a hurry to leave. we were told that a table in the back had just rec'd their food so if i wanted to go back and ask the how long it would take for them to eat i could. i have heard such wonderful things about this place but have never, ever been subjected to the rudeness of the staff at the front. there were plety of pissed of people there waiting for their tables. it could have been an off night for them, but i can't say that i am looking to try going there again. we ended up at a mexican restaurant on 116th st--they were so hospitable, the chef came out, and we got free tequila---that's customer service for you and I have lived in NYC all of my life and have been to my share of places. Again, i would be hesitant about making reservations there again, especially since the women at the front didn't seem to care or apologize for any inconvenience to their patrons.

Great time on a rainy Saturday evening. Got there at 5pm - didn't leave until 1am. Music is great,. The meat is better than the beans. Good combinartions offered like my pork chop and rib-eye steak - where else. The white sangria was great too. All in all a great meeting place too start out a club night or to check out honeys.

Some great things in life are right under your nose. Ricardo's is by far the best steakhouse my family and I have been to. Last night we were craving a good steak dinner and were thinking about trekking downtown when I realized Ricardo's is just two blocks away. We've walked by the place many times and never went in. We decided to give it a try. The reviews I read were great, so we went. What a fantastic experience. The food was spectacular, the service was great, the ambience was so enjoyable that we spend the rest of the evening talking about what a great dining experience we had. I now know where I want celebrate my birthday this year.

I've eaten at Ricardo a few times and although thought the service was not on par with the prices (which keep increasing) I have always thought the food was good and atmosphere an interesting change - it's got a bit of flava' compared to other steakhouses in this range - thanks to its location and the music they play. Reserved for this week and called repeatedly to see if we could move our reservation by a few minutes earlier - no one answered either line for hours. It made me nervous but I showed up anyway for my reservation - going all the way from the UWS - with an out of town guest. Guess what? The hostess infomed us there would be an hour wait - no where to stand much less sit for a drink - absolute chaos - and said they quit answering the phone two days prior because "we are booked for Valentine's Day and everyone kept calling for V Day". On average we normally spend about $250 for two people here but we will not be going back -Ricardo I hope that special V Day one night stand is worth it. Wow. I also felt really bad for all the couples waiting who had obviously made this their special choice for V Day and had reservations like we did and were just waiting. Poor management - and in the end, it makes you realize that a restaurant's service is indicative of all.
