    Too Noisy!

This is not the place to go if you want to engage conversation with friends. It's extremely noisy, and you'll likely be seated at a shared table with at least one other couple. The place is usually very crowded too. But the food is inexpensive and pretty good or not bad, though not at all amazing.

    Solid

I have been eating at Republic for over 4 years and the food and service are good. The food is fresh, tasty and brought out hot and fast. I recommend the coconut crusted shrimp as an app.- it never fails. The wait staff is helpful and accomodating. It is a great place to get a quick bite or dine out with friends. The only drawbacks is that it can be overwhelmingly noisy at times and recently the prices have gone up. A couple of years ago, there wasn't anything on the menu over $10, but things have changed.

this place is just "aight" nothing more.. Food is alright and it is cheap,..wait-staff is a lil bit "dontcare" and sometimes rude. But if u need a fast bite,..its not a bad place

    Not great

Not pleased with this place. The food was OK, the service was not great. The lighting in there is just horrible - please put some candles on those picnic tables! And it was freezing. They need to figure out something with the heating - it's only going to get colder and with the traffic the front doors keep opening and closing and well...we and 75% of the other patrons ate in our coats. Not a pleasurable dining situation.

    pretty good :)

I want to start by saying that I just love their "coconut shrimp" (you have to try it... and I am usually NOT a big fan of coconut shrimp anywhere else! Sometimes I come to this place just to get two orders of coconut shrimp..hehehhe :) Other food is good, service is pretty good.. atmosphere is thai-trendy... enjoy :)

    Good but overpriced food

The food is pretty good and the portions are reasonably sized, but for less money you could get a meal just as good (if not better) elsewhere. The service is incredible though - the waiters are VERY friendly and are always checking to see if you're done eating, if you're happy with your food and whatnot.

    You gotta be kidding me!

Not sure about their Veg only selection as Im not a vegan. So perhaps they do underscore in that department. However, You can get a meal in there for the cheap not quite sure where in NYC the reviewer below eats for much less. Ive had an appetizer, a bowl and a mojito for $25...I mean maybe I can do better at Chipotle, but would rather pass on that. And Ive never even been able to finish my meal its always too much, so the portions are fine. As for the seating all together...in case you didnt get it by the name or the pale military color green or the single red star its a reference to communism...its irony
