You get what you pay for

The Bad: Tried to book a party at Republic, but they don't take reservations - how frustrating! We waited 45 minutes for a table for 10 that was clearly meant for 8 people and our waitress was a bit slow. The Good: Almost everyone loved their food (with the exception of one person who god a flavorless noodle bowl) and it was huge portions for the price! The drinks were relatively inexpensive and the white sangria was delicious.

    Great Food-Loud Space!

I love the food here-especially the broth noodles. Fantastic! Only problem is.. the space is incredibly noisy. It is hard to hear the person sitting across from you. But the food is worth braving the sound.

    Very weird tasting food

I went to Republic with a date and could not find anything on the menu that sounded familiar. Too many odd spices and vegetables I've never heard of. I asked if they could prepare something minus a certain vegetable and they said "It comes that way". That was turnoff number 1. The place is so noisy that my friend and I had to actually scream or read lips. I finally gave up trying to talk and just ate and got out of there. The food is very strange so if you're expecting any resemblance to a regular Chinese restaurant, forget it. The waiters were very nice and the service pretty fast but the menu has nothing that I like at all so I will never go back there.

    Deliciousness

Whenever I step into this restaurant, they promptly greet me and try to seat me as soon as possible. I love that this restaurant provides such great service for an amazingly crowded eatery - there is rarely an empty seat for longer than 10 minutes. I enjoy their food as well. DEFINITELY GET THE SEARED SALMON. It is absolutely delicious. Their restroom is also very clean, which I think says a lot about the cleanliness of their entire restaurant.

    Almost always perfect!

I've eaten at Republic several times and it's fine for a quick meal with a friend if you don't mind noise. But lately I've been ordering delivery and always get the BBQ pork. In the past year they seem to have changed the way they prepare the pork, even though I asked waitress once and she said they didn't. There wasn't much fat on the pork and they were cut into larger strips, but regardless that's still my favorite item and they always make it the way I like it and delivery it very quickly! The chocolate truffle cake is also very very good!

    Pretty decent

I had a pretty decent lunch at Republic. I got their coconut creme lime drink and their curry duck noodles. The drink was good and the noodles were pretty good. Adding some sweet and hot sauce helped, but on the whole, it wasn't too bad. I'd go back for lunch.

    disappointing and unfortunate

I went there a few weeks ago for a lunch date. I really wanted to like the place because I'd heard such awesome things about it, but I have to say that I was roundly disappointed. The iced tea tasted rotten, the pad thai was okay but tasted like feet (I believe someone else has pointed that out, too) and the salad was practically inedible: soggy ingredients and bland dressing with some garnish on top. I'd be willing to try it again because, like I said, I've heard lots of good things, but the first go-round was icky.
