Great Food, didn't feel special
I really liked everything about this restaurant, food, ambiance, wine, however while the staff did a competent job, I did not feel special. A couple times I had to ask the busboy to please help find my server. I would definitely recommend however. Maybe the servers were just having an off night. Plus their pre-fix is a pretty good deal, large portions.

Will not return
The service was the best part of the meal. Though the decor is nice, the restaurant was filled will tourists for dinner as it is attached to a hotel. I did not realize this before dining there. I had polenta, the canneloni and tiramisu. Nothing was exceptional and I will not be returning for such a high-priced, but ultimately disappointing, dinner when there are so many fantastic Italian places in the city.

Great Pasta
I went here for my birthday and was extremely pleased. The restraunt has an open, airy feel. Very clean. The service was excellent, they gave great recommendations and were very attentive. The pasta is delicous, all homemade. We had a great time.

What a true waste of money
After seeing a show on broadway we thought we would catch a nice dinner. Wrong. The service was very slow and not very friendly. The food was really bad. The special was grilled vegies with no flavor at all. They also pulled the bottled water trick with plain old tap water. 165.00 for a real bad meal. I know what good italian is and this is not it!!!

Better than Venice Itself!
This is my favorite Italian restaurant world wide and that includes those recently eaten in Venice. I love the amibence, the originality of the menu, and the veal dishes...the best! No visit to NYC is complete without a meal here.

Decor great, food not so
Went here after a City Center performance, so it is unclear what the restaurant might be like at peak dining times. The decor is quite imaginative, based on a Venetian theme. The food was certainly good, although not excellent. I had a Venetian dish, because of the venue, calves liver. I have had better at restaurants which do not purport to be specifically Venice-based. Dessert, semifreddo, was better than my pasta appetizer or my main course. The waiter took three tries to get my drink order right. He was very friendly, but getting a drink right shouldn't be that hard. All in all, probably not a place we will rush back to.

Excellent
I had a great dinner here. The baked eggplant appetizer and gnocci were great. The pounded veal chop was the most tender I've ever had. Also, another plus is that is wasn't too noisy- god for conversation. Great meal all around!
