    Ruined my morning

The line at Clinton Street Baking Company was too long,so I decided to try the Remedy Diner. Big mistake. It's a fairly large placebut it was less that half full. On a Saturday morning no less. Given that, it took more than 15min to get service and when I asked the waitress for tea, I was given a PLASTIC spoon. What is this?! When I received my order,no cutlery or napkins were provided. The waitress dumped my order and quickly moved away.never botheing to check to see if I needed anything else. The busboy was more helpful and he even asked if I needed anything. After a few bites of my omelette, which was fine I asked the busboy for the check. Said waitress scurried over with overly effusive Christmas salutations and fake gratitude. I left a 20% tip,but it was'nt for her. I hope the busboy knocks her to the ground and takes it all.

    Solid

Took me a while to find my breakfast place in the neighborhood, but this is it. Things can be inconsistant but the home fries are the great, The coffee is the only I have found that is not bitter or burnt though the cups were much larger when they first opened. Take the criticism below with a grain of salt , there is a huge hungover crowd on weekend afternoons.

great - most of the time

they can be a little inconsistent, but on weekdays at night they're usually really good. i love the turkey dinner, the guy that takes orders is super cool and hooked me up with stuffing and cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes with gravy too. i've had the burger which was good one time, and horrible the next. overall a nice diner solution for the area.

    Place disappoints

Food subpar. Manager not professional. Not a real diner. Cannot handle a breakfast rush. Food comes at different times. Wrong toast given. Dirty plates. Basically, this place should not be around. Shining light is the busboy with his coffee filling. That happens at all diners. Give the busboy his own diner.

    Embarassment to diners-Remedy

It has the name diner in it, however I would think otherwise after my weekend breakfast there. First off, I will discuss the food. Menu choices look pretty good, but when the food arrives, not at all. This is a "diner", as per the name. Why did it take over 25 minutes to get eggs at a diner. Should never happen at a real diner...has never happened at a REAL diner. Any real place can handle a breakfast rush with efficiency and speed without altering quality. Of the three people, one order was forgotten. My eggs were well done. The avocados were brown. A dining partner asked for salad instead of hash browns. When she picked up the ONE large lettuce leaf, which apparently this disaster place deems a full salad, there was a puddle of grease and remnants of hash browns. When asked for a new plate, we were given a DIRTY plate. Blatant food crumbs from another person. When we asked the hostess for the manager, we were ignored. After flagging down the manager, the manager so as to appear like he cared opted to berate the waitress in full volume in front of us as well as other diners. Absolutely unprofessional. The only hint of light in this otherwise disaster experience was the busboy. He was vigilant in refilling our coffee, which is what usually happens in any real diner. Therefore, I highly recommend going elsewhere. Unfortunately, there still are no real diners in the LES. This was the first and last time I will step foot in that place. Bottom line, the remedy for hunger is anything but Remedy. If you want better quality and service, go anywhere else.

    not much flavor

i've eaten here 2x w/ my bf & even tho the portion is huge (can be shared) the food has either no flavor or poor flavoring ... do not get the momma's meatloaf. They make it sound so yummy on the menu but there's practically no flavor! The pasta taste like regular tomato sauce unseasoned & sometimes it taste like ravioli sauce (chef boyardee) The omelette has no salt or flavor, i had to add a lot of ketchup to it. I would say the only thing i would even go back to order would be the chicken noodle soup but that was too salty.
