What a perfect idea: introduce people to Italy through different regions' recipes. The food was not good at all: cold, on the uncooked side of al dente, poorly executed sauces. The wine was grossly overpriced. While the busboys were amazing, the waitress was awful. The restaurant, cozy enough from the outside, felt like an airport canteen, with tables for two squished up against the walls and couches on the other side.

My husband and I recently went to this restaurant for the third time, thinking we had been there on off nights before. We kept getting drawn in by the ambience. It looks great. Nevertheless, we had an average meal. We also sat at a table next to a touch screen used by the wait staff to submit orders, and there were people coming up to our table tapping on the screen every 10 seconds. When we tried to suggest to management that they move the screen so it is not a problem for future patrons, we got attitude. A disappointment because we really would like to have some more places to go for good Italian food on the upper west side.

I always feel like I am at home when I go to Regional. My favorite is the Cod, I always want to order it, but make myself order new dishes (pastas are really amazing). They have a wonderful and varied menu. The people that work there are so warm and friendly.

this was the neighborhood Italian I had hoped it would be. The space is well designed, the lighting done well. Too bad the food isn't worth it. I have dined there three times and will not go back. Had linguini with garlic and clams...no flavor at all. To boot turned out that they added tip to my cc after I had tipped in cash, they never said hey have a glass of wine on us. Service is just ok, food is boring. I was really hoping for a great Italian, too bad I got a mediocre one. Maybe next time.

I love Regional! I live around the corner and come here all of the time. Not only is the menu fantastic (try the beet and ricotta ravioli and the cod), with wonderful dinner special additions, but the wine list is great. There are so many reasonable options to choose from. Also, DON'T miss the dessert! Every single thing on the dessert menu is delicious. The service is great, too. After only a couple of times coming here, the servers and even the owners knew who my fiance and I were. This is a real neighborhood find!

I don't really think there is any doubt that Regional is not a misnomer. I mean, where do you find a restaurant that covers every single district of italy from north to south food wise and wine wise in the city? I went there last night and sat at the bar...nice tapas menus..had risotto pancakes (yuummy), a beet salad , number 2 glasses of a crispy white from rome(no remembrance of the name)...very reasonably priced, friendly staff. will go BACK!

Had a very dissapointing experience in this restautant. The food was actually quite dissapointing, and although the restaurant prided itself with the real Italian cooking tradition, having lived in Italy for a number of years I was dismayed, however what soured my dining experience most of all was the poor service. We had what seemed an eternity to order, get water and had to get our table cleaned, we even had to wait the waiter for the bill and even to take our money, all this whilst the restaurant not being that busy and whilst watching our waiter socialising by the bar.
