Let's Calm Down
I think it's about time for the reviewers of this an all other UWS spots to re-calibrate. 5.5 stars! Not even close. Small, rushed, so so value. Wine in a water class. Jean-George is running scared?

terrific specials
We first tried regional a few years ago and chose not to return until friends of ours from the east side, no less, asked us to join them at Regional a few months ago. We've returned 7 or 8 times since. Especially on Tuesdays when a 3-cousre meal is $25 , and on Mondays wen a pasts dish is $9. We've taking friends there, too.

Worse and worse
We've been dining here for over four years, and ordering delivery. The past few meals have been disappointing - the quality and taste of the food is just bad. Sauces, the pasta, and side dishes are not good. Service is not bad, interior not awful, but the food has become absolutely subpar. What was once a go to neighborhood restaurant will now be avoided at any costs.

Very mediocre
Gummy pasta, slimy sauce. Generic interior. Zero ambience.

3 Listed Items Not Available (or are they?), Ordered Items Not Brought
Just got back from first time visit to Regional (8pm, Sat. night). I've lived on Riverside & W.95th for last 6 years and frequent/sample many of the local restaurants. We tried to order the salad with buffalo mozzarella and tomato but were told they were out of buffalo mozzarella. We tried to order linguine with clams but were told they were out of clams. I later noticed the gentleman sitting to my immediate left (who arrived about 5 minutes after I ordered) enjoying the linguine with clams. We ordered garganelli with veal ragu and the waiter later came out to say they were out of "ghocchetti" so substituted with shells. We ordered a side of broccoli raab that never came.

Mediocre at best, and going down hill
This place should be a fave for us - it's close to home, has an appealing ambiance, and it relatively affordable. Despite the repeat attempts and changes in orders, the food remains mediocre, at best -- bland, ordinary Italian food often ill-prepared. The service, too, leaves something to be desired, as the servers are slow and often rude. When Regional first opened, it was good -- nothing special, but consistent and convenient. Now it's just blah, with menu that seems to get shorter and shorter with each visit. I wish I could praise this place because I want to like it, but alas, I don't.

A neighborhood gem
First of all, I totally disagree with all the naysayers about the service. I probably dine here once a month, and I've never had bad service. The servers have always been attentive an polite. The food and presentation are consistently good, and Regional with its $9 pasta nights and $25 prix fixe nights offers probably the best value on the UWS.
