    Great experience!

Four of us had dinner at the Redeye Grill in mid-February. This was my 2nd time there the others were new to the Redeye. It is a relaxed and delightful room and we were given a fabulous table in the front window, from which we could see little snow-showers passing. The food was really excellent - everyone was very pleased. The service was friendly, relaxed, and casual, and overall the evening was a pleasure. It is not inexpensive, but we felt that the price was justified by the quality of the food and the delightful atmosphere. We all look forward to a return visit in the future!

    Excellant

The hotel recommended this place and they were spot on. The atmosphere was perfect for a group of 5 who can be a little loud! Our waiter was fantastic. He was friendly, but not overbearing. Very pleasant and made excellant recommendations. From drinks, to apps, to the main course and on to dessert, everything was wonderful. I will go back and would recommend it to my friends.

Blah- but Banana Pie worth it

The entrees are not worth the price, however their banana pie was very scrumptious. The service was superb! I would recommend it as a dessert & drink kind of place

    Big Disappointment

Big disappointment period. Food wasn't fresh and service was way below par. Waiter didn't remember all of our orders either.

    Pre-theater yum

A great restaurant for a vegetarian who travels with people who love their meat. But the desserts, my my my, the desserts are really to die for. In particular, the newest concoction, the S'More: not exactly what I used to eat while camping with the Girl Scouts... And the chocolate mousse: dense and rich, without being sweet. Come to think of it, going straight to dessert isn't a bad idea. And one of the few restaurants that understands that if you're going to the theater you don't want to hang out for half an hour waiting for the check!

    True Hospitality Professionals

My experience here renewed my faith in good old fashioned customer service. Not the kind where people have to kiss up to you once you have gotten upset about something so you don't go bad mouthing them to your friends. This was the real deal. As a hotelier I am quite accustomed as to how to treat people but rarely get it back in return when I am on the other side. From the moment I walked in to the Redeye, it was textbook perfect. I was not sure if I was dressed appropriately as I was fresh off a plane in jeans, walked by and the place looked lively and warm. It was getting late, and I was starving and needed a good meal. Moments earlier, I had just stepped into my hotels restaurant where I received a complimentary portion of attitude from not one but two hosti - one male, one female. I kept walking in the neighborhood and found Redeye Grill. I was greeted by the GM coincidentally who when I asked if I was dressed appropriately he assured me I was and offered 4 different locations in the restaurant that I could choose from where I would be most comfortable. Turns out it was the bar, where he introduced the bartender to me and asked him to take great care of me, which he did. It was a bonus for me that the meal was terrific, the drink was stiff and the evening was saved. Mr. GM even came back to check on me. Imagine that. p.s. my complaint about service issues are not NY specific, unfortunately it is pervasive in many big cities

    pricey, but worth it

The Red Eye was recommended by our hotel's concierge when we asked for a moderately priced restaurant near the hotel. I wouldn't call it moderate, but expensive. The food is worth the price. The menu includes a wide variety of things from sushi, to steaks, seafood, Wiener Schnitzel, short ribs, and organic pasta. The last three were superb! Portions are good size and the atmosphere and service were excellent. If you can only afford one expensive restaurant during your NYC visit, then this is the place!
