Ugh. That was one of the worst General Tso's Chicken dinners I have ever had in my life. The chicken was soggy and the sauce was not on point at all! I threw it away. I have not yet tried the pork fried dumplings, but I did smell the sauce and I am not expecting anything much better. Come on guys! These are American Chinese food basics. If you can't get GTC sauce right, then I don't know if I can trust you for anything!

Great Value
I order from Red Star about two times a week. The deliveries are fast and the food is good and very reasonably priced. I have tried a few other Chinese food places but this has by far been the best.

fast and friendly
i have ordered from this place on numerous occasions and have found the service both fast and friendly. i have called orders in for pick up, ordered in and waited, and also had delivery - there has never been any problem with an order or its timeliness. the food is nothing special, but not bad. however, don't even THINK about sitting down and eating in this place - this is purely take-out!

slow, slow, slow
This is a basic take-out Chinese joint (emphasis on the word 'joint'); same menu as everywhere else in town. Not bad but nothing special. What is troubling about this place is the amount of time it takes to get an order. I went in to order some lo-mein. 50 minutes later my order is done. Not like they had dozens of orders ahead of me; maybe 3 walk-ins and 6 call-ins (remember, I'm standing there watching). One of the people ahead of me was waiting for 45 minutes before she got her order (chicken broccoli and soup). Unbelievable. It would have been almost as fast to take a train down to Chinatown for some really good food and be back uptown before Red Star could serve. I can't even imagine what delivery would be like...
