It is a darn good burger!

I have never actually been inside Red Star. I started ordering the burger after I found this place on menupages. The only thing I ever order is the burger, regular fries & salad. The burger is GREAT! And probably worth the price for the free range beef. It is always cooked to the perfect temperature and the meat is fresh and very flavorful, complimented by the brioche bun. Totally happy these guys are around to deliver a perfect burger right to my door.

    Over Rated & Over Priced

Great atmosphere and it goes downhill from there. Food is tastey but not worth the price. Very good ribs but not a meaty cut of ribs served. Drinks are OK but nothing to write home about. The bouncer needs to learn manners, The serving staff is friendly and attentive.

    Best burgers around

So if you want the best burger around then go to Red Star...juicy, fresh and filling. Love to go on Football Sunday. Friendly bartender, great atmosphere, but I wish they had more table service. Thumbs up!!!s

    AWESOME Sports Bar!

I went here last Sunday for the game, and it was a totally awesome place! They have like 12 TVs throughout the bar, both upstairs, and down, and they get all of the games. You can watch any football game you want (I even watched Miami vs. Arizona)! They updated the menu with a new head chef, and what I had was incredible. I had a burger that is definitely worth the trip, and they had these sour cream and onion french fries with a ranch side that were so good. Also, their wings are really big and meaty, and the batter is really good. The bar staff was attentive and very friendly, and the place has a really cool sports bar decor. Considering that it's the only real sports bar in the area, I'll definitely be back watching my poor Dolphins on Sundays.

    HMMMM Ribs

So if you love babyback ribs come on over to Red Star. They truly fall off the bone. My friend had their wings on $.37 Wed. Wing Night....delicous. Thumbs up to the chef and cool staff.

    What the Hood's been missing...

been living in Greenpoint for about 6 years now and have seen a lot of new eateries spring east of manhattan avenue in that time. I don't believe we need any more trendy destination spots over here, but we were in need of some reasonably priced good 'ol american bar food. If you don't like the sports bar atmosphere but crave hefty burgers and chicken fingers, they also deliver, and have some of the most accomodating service I have seen anywhere since moving here. Don't expect to take your fiancee's parents here to impress them, it is what it is: it's a nice new sports bar with above average food and friendly people.

    Bah.

Ordinary burgers extraordinary prices. Fries like nobody else gets you a small amount of dipping sauce or maybe a sprinkle of garlic salt. The avocados were rotting. The fries might as well have been left out in the rain. When asked "How would you like your burger cooked?" I ask "Why respond?" This place falls into the category of undercooking all their meat out of sheer indifference. In summation, overpriced and underwhelming. Save some money, make your own patties, order from a place that doesn't specialize in scamming. But I will say both employees I encountered were very nice, but something from them to cooks was lost in translation.
