    Consistent Wrong Orders

2 out of the last 4 times either myself or boyfriend have gone to this restaurant, they have given us the wrong order, though we double-check with them though unfortunately didn't go through the bag to triple-check. The first time we just chalked it up to a new person but this last time was the last time, plus the food has been on the greasy side.

    Food quality has gone down

This used to be a great place to get chinese food, but recently, the quality (and quantity) of the food has gone down. Whatever the cause (saving money, probably), it's been like his the last few times I ordered, and am considering finding a new chinese take out place. - Noga Rosenthal

    Cheap and Fast

I order in from here (and have picked up takeout) from this place when I don't want to spend a lot of money. The quality of the food is not stellar, but delivery (and takeout) is lightning-fast and the prices are awesome (a combo meal - dinner! - for six bucks). The shrimp rolls actually taste pretty good, though. Definitely better Chinese food out there, but if you're starving and strapped for cash, this place is perfect.

    Holy Shrimp Roll- My Savior

I don't care that the rest of the food isn't as good. They make the best damn shrimp roll. Get it. You know you want to. And eat it while you walk...mmmmm, so good.

Not recommended but I'm too lazy to go elsewhere

Red House is located right around the corner from me, so I've ordered there at least five times. Every time, I kick myself for giving into laziness and for settling for less than par food. The egg roll is probably the least offensive item you can order -- it isn't swimming in grease and is crispy. The wonton soup is not bad either, but is skimpy as they only give you 3 dumplings. The soup is clear and there is no meat in it that I can see. I order the combination meal of boneless spare ribs. Every time I do, I wonder why. They give you a round plastic container filled 5/6ths full of rice and about 10 small pieces of meat. It's usually charred black and has lots of slimy fat in the pieces. The taste is inoffensive but really mediocre. As for the atmosphere, it seems as though the people that work there are an enormous Chinese family. Every single time I've been there, at least 4-5 (up to 10) of the workers are sitting at the few tables (I think 4 tables) eating lunch or dinner and talking loudly. The young girl at the counter is very nice though. The prices may seem reasonable, but really, since so much of the food is rice or broth and not much substance, I honestly don't think it's a great deal.

    Never Again

We received a Red House menu, and I liked the fact that there were combination plates all of the time, and not just at lunch. Our order was the House Chow Fun and Veggie Lo Mein. It was the blandest Chinese food I have ever tasted! Here, I guess House special means chicken and lettuce (yuk), and the veggies were practically non-existent in the lo mein. We will never order from here again.

    Subpar but cheap

I've ordered from here onve and don't think I will again. Food was very bland (general tso's) and the delivery guy was all in my face about a $1.88 tip on a $6.62 order. I usually tip more but the total wasn't much and they are only a block and a half away.
