I love the food. I hate the service after tonight, and will start looking to satisfy my vegan palate elsewhere. With a party of seven, two rounds of drinks, apps, entrees, and desserts for everyone, I was pretty taken aback when one of the waitstaff asked us to leave after an hour and forty-five minutes. We were ordering throughout our time there, the bill was a few hundred dollars, no one was being unruly. They just wanted to seat other people. It was really poor form as the last of the beers were still being finished. It's a shame, really. I love(d) this place. The food is amazing. But the attitude was really irritating. Moreover, we were seated under a sweaty AC unit and had to dodge water drops the whole night. Come on, Red Bamboo. If only the service were up to the quality of the food.

Been here about a handful of times and every time the food was satisfying. they have awesome buffalo wings and chicken dishes. ALL their house made sauces are amazing. This place is always packed so expect a brief wait but its worth it. Now i want some of their chicken... drools*

I absolutely love this place. So far the only meal that doesnt really make my taste buds happy is the spaghetti and meatballs just because Im not used to the sauce. Other than that the food is awesome! Oh and the shirley temple....YUM! Would so recommend this to everyone! Even to non-vegetarians/vegans.

After searching for the best of the best vegetarian restaurants in NYC we found RED BAMBOO in the heart of the village. The wait for a about 30 minutes was worth it.. Not only was EVERY dish from appetizers to main courses great but the service was great.. The mock meats were as good as it gets served in huge portions. Overall a great experience..

this is the place to take your non-vegan friends to convince them that vegan food can be delicious. the mango chicken, the chicken parm, the soul chicken.. the food is consistently well-done, well-presented and reasonably priced.

Great food, and the lunch specials are always a steal. Good service. It's a bit small inside, but everything else is top notch!

I recently moved to NY from FL for college and I was very excited to eat at the all veg. restaurants in the city. After reading so many great reviews, Red Bamboo was the first restaurant I visited with my BF and it did not disappoint! We went on a Friday night around 7pm and waited about 1/2 hr for a table. The seating arrangement at the front of the restaurant is a bit cramped: small tables with chairs at the front and a long bench along the wall that's shared by all 6 tables at the front. If you go at a better time or have a bigger party, the tables in the back are a nicer. Overall the atmosphere is good and cozy, not too fussy but not overly casual. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very polite and attentive but not annoyingly so. She refilled our drinks frequently and took a moment to ask how we were enjoying our meal. Now, onto the FOOD! Our meal was absolutely delicious! We ordered two appetizers, the famous creole soul chicken and the Buffalo Wings. The soul chicken was out of this world. My bf commented several times that it was "better than meat!" which is VERY high praise for him, as he used to be very turned off from mock meat. It was fried perfectly, very crispy, but not at all greasy and the meat was tender and "smooth" (as my bf described it) in other words, it wasn't stringy or dry. The buffalo wings were superb as well. We were expecting a spicier/tangier sauce a la traditional hot buffalo wings these are more like BBQ wings but still superb! I disagree with a prev. reviewer that the "bone" stick was somehow un-vegan. I thought it was an excellent idea that allowed more freedom to eat the wings with your fingers! We split an entree of the citrus beef with asparagus. I tried a few other vegan places over the week (VP2, Buddha Bodai) and had something beef-ish from both. RB definitely wins in the mock beef department. The only thing I didn't like so much about this were the veggies cut into small sizes. They didn't necessarily taste frozen, but it gave me an image of frozen veggies. I'd have preferred this with whole asparagus spears and slices of pepper. This entree was great and I'm sure they have other entrees that are better (the man next to us was eating a delicious looking sandwich!) but for us the real stars were the appetizers! I'll definitely be coming back to Red Bamboo and I highly recommend it!
