After reading the reviews and coming across the menu, I decided that I had to try Red Bamboo. I called up a friend and went right after work. The wait for a table of two was a little longer than the promised 15-20 minutes.. but it was certainly worth my while. I was delighted by the Carribean Jerk Spiced Seitan to start!! And I tried the cod fish cakes with mango salsa. I substitued the mixed green salad with a side of collard greens, and added the sweet corn mashed potatoes. My tastebuds were delighted by the variety of delicate spices in the cool salsa and warm fish cakes. I got a bit thirsty, and my server did take a loooong time to refill my glass.. but I quickly forgave him. He made up for it by being even more charming and flashing a cute grin. You simply MUST try Red Bamboo. Vegetarian Paradise 2 used to be my favorite restaurant; now I have a new one. :)

My friend and I each ordered a dish and an appetizer. The appetizers and her dish came out very promptly, but mine did not. The server came to remove her plate after she had finished and asked if we would like anything else. "Yes, I said, my dinner." He then realized that a mistake had been made and rushed my food through. He didn't charge us for the dish and was very apologetic. I am positive that that incident was the exception. The place has excellent food and great service and I highly recomend it.

I've been a regular at Red Bamboo since about two weeks after it opened. The food is great and the people who work there friendly. Yes, I'm a vegetarian, but I have taken friends who are not vegetarians there, and they loved the food. What would I suggest? My favorite is the Vegetarian Soul Chicken, but there are a lot of great choices. In fact, you won't be disapointed with any of the "chicken" dishes. The Soy Chops and "Salmon" Teriyaki are also delicious. There are many great appetizers. The vege shrimp and soul chicken are two of my favorites, but don't skip the collard or salmon rolls. The deserts are huge. Be prepared to share a slice with a friend. The soy ice cream is also great. One word of warning. Go there with an appetite because the servings are large. You will not walk out of Red Bamboo hungry.

Staff is always friendly & helpful, food is fantastic & a suprisingly nice wine selection. They serve Riesling, which is my favorite white wine but you don't find it available in most "everyday" restaurants. I took my boyfirend who is a strict meat & potatoes kinda guy and he was pleasantly suprised & wants to go back!! Great selection of dishes to choose from. Always a bit of a wait for a table but that just let's you know that it's absolutely worth it.

I've only eaten here once (hey! I live in Philly, give me a break). This place rocks! I ordered this Vegetarian Salmon dish. FANTASTIC!!!! Great cozy atmosphere in a neat location. Would recommend!
