Red Bamboo is my favorite vegetarian restaurant. The Buffalo Wings, Carribean Jerk Seitan, Crispy Soul Chicken, and Teriyaki Chicken Salad are usually in regular rotation on my ordering list. However, I'm not a big fan of the kind of soy product that they use for the cheese steak and citrus beef-- It's a little to tough and chewy. But if you order anything w/ crispy chicken you will love it! My non-vegetarian friends love this place too! The service is usually good-- they do get busy so make reservations for 4 or more people on the weekends. The ambience and good selection of beers is also great for that 'dining out' experience. P.S. The lunch special (only on weekdays) is an amazing deal: with one entree and one appetizer for $6.95 you won't leave hungry or broke!

I simply love this place! I want to take every one of my friends and family members so that they too can experience the joy of eating vegetarian. One thing though, the wait time can sometimes be a bit unbearable. Be prepared, if you go after work on a Thursday or Friday evening, to wait at least 45 minutes to an hour. I prefer to go during lunch time when they have just opened (at 12:30pm). It's much quieter, and not as crowded-- thus, not having to literally rub elbows with a village-ite while you eat. :) Enjoy! Be sure to try the Caribbean Jerk Spiced Seitan and the Buffalo Barbecue Wings!!!

Going to Red Bamboo is one of the highlights of my day! The food there is soooooo good! It's kind of freaky how all their dishes taste exactly like their meat counterparts, but I'm sure they really are vegetarian & vegan. I recommend the Butterfly Soy Chops, Bourbon Chicken, Jerk Seitan Skewers, and Teriyaki Chicken Salad. I can't wait to go there again and try more of their dishes! Absolutely fantastic in food, value, and service!

After reading the reviews and coming across the menu, I decided that I had to try Red Bamboo. I called up a friend and went right after work. The wait for a table of two was a little longer than the promised 15-20 minutes.. but it was certainly worth my while. I was delighted by the Carribean Jerk Spiced Seitan to start!! And I tried the cod fish cakes with mango salsa. I substitued the mixed green salad with a side of collard greens, and added the sweet corn mashed potatoes. My tastebuds were delighted by the variety of delicate spices in the cool salsa and warm fish cakes. I got a bit thirsty, and my server did take a loooong time to refill my glass.. but I quickly forgave him. He made up for it by being even more charming and flashing a cute grin. You simply MUST try Red Bamboo. Vegetarian Paradise 2 used to be my favorite restaurant; now I have a new one. :)

My friend and I each ordered a dish and an appetizer. The appetizers and her dish came out very promptly, but mine did not. The server came to remove her plate after she had finished and asked if we would like anything else. "Yes, I said, my dinner." He then realized that a mistake had been made and rushed my food through. He didn't charge us for the dish and was very apologetic. I am positive that that incident was the exception. The place has excellent food and great service and I highly recomend it.

I've been a regular at Red Bamboo since about two weeks after it opened. The food is great and the people who work there friendly. Yes, I'm a vegetarian, but I have taken friends who are not vegetarians there, and they loved the food. What would I suggest? My favorite is the Vegetarian Soul Chicken, but there are a lot of great choices. In fact, you won't be disapointed with any of the "chicken" dishes. The Soy Chops and "Salmon" Teriyaki are also delicious. There are many great appetizers. The vege shrimp and soul chicken are two of my favorites, but don't skip the collard or salmon rolls. The deserts are huge. Be prepared to share a slice with a friend. The soy ice cream is also great. One word of warning. Go there with an appetite because the servings are large. You will not walk out of Red Bamboo hungry.
