Many (most?) of the dishes involve soy protein made to look/taste like meat. As a vegetarian for almost 40 year, I found that quite unappealing! The vegetable with black bean ginger sauce were good, but but more sauce would have been nice. The space is quite cramped.

Don't let the fact that everything is vegetarian drive you away from this place. Even diehard carnavores will love it. The grilled bourbon chicken is out of this world! The "beef" dishes are delicious too. If you are not a huge fan of vegetarian meats then you might want to avoid the fish dishes. Personally, I like them but I'm told that they are an acquired taste (whatever that means). The other great thing about this place is that you can get sandwiches and they serve just about every dish you can imagine. The staff is very friendly, the service is excellent and the place itself, although a bit small, is comfortable and cute. The deserts are really tasty too. You just cannot beat this place for selection of food, price atmosphere and staff. It's a really great place and I hope it stays open forever!

Food is great, waiters are indifferent. soul chicken and chicken parm are incredible; all of the faux meats are really, really good. definitely worth the ridiculously long wait and cold shoulder from hipster-waitstaff.

The food was good. The atmosphere was comfortable. I never knew imitation chicken could taste so good. The place is a little cramped though so don't bring all 11 of your closest friends.

The food is very very good, esp. the fish sticks (fake). The protions are good sized and the prices are a little high. The service is good but the place is very crowded and somewhat noisy. The desserts are beyond overpriced. :(.

I had the pleasure of visiting red bamboo about 2 weeks ago. First of all, I am not a vegetarian, but I love food. I had the butterfly soy chops and the collard greens. Excellent!!! The brownie crusted cheesecake and the chocolate covered strawberry shortcake is off the hook. I have been recommending this place to everyone that I know since I went. Check this place out and take a friend, you will not be disappointed.

The food is absolutely remarkable. I would have to say that I fell head over heels in love with the cajun fried shrimp. How is it possible to make "pseudo" shrimp tastes almost exactly like the real thing? Yes, I realize that the creole soul chicken is the prize item on the menu, but don't sleep on the barbeque buffalo wings or dante's cuisine. I mean the texture of the food is very similar to it's meat counterpart. And the desserts, what can I say about vegan oreo cheesecake, vegan mint chocolate chip milkshakes, or vegan peanut butter tandy cake... SCRUMDILIUMPTIOUS...
