From the range of main courses to the amazing desserts. I didn't have to worry that the flavor would be .. Lacking. As many would assume to be because vegan food according to non veggie/vegan eaters lacks all the best ingredients you could put in food. Red bamboo is an extraordinary little nook in NYC Ive already gone back for seconds, this time with non vegan/vegetarian friends and they loved it too! One of my friends got the fried "chicken" simply amazing haha. They can't knock off veggie/vegan stylings anymore

My husband and I ate there two nights in a row. How delish! We ordered mango chicken and a kabob for an appetizer and something else. Won-der-ful! We would recommend everyone we know to eat there. What an absolute treat! Next time we're in NY C, we shall visit again!

Shared appetizers & mains; dishes tried to imitate meat versions & failed, mushy & overcooked with bland spice except almost everything was Too salty. Needs to celebrate vegetable ingredients, not wish they were something else. Decor casual, seating tight, in a basement. No reservations, so 1/2 hour wait for this, off-peak.

I resally like a good fake-meat dish, I go to may-wah in chinatown for the best of the best, it is frozen, to eat at home, but as far as restaurants, this is good, better than most, but the delivery man shook his head because i gave him a $3.80 tip for ordering one dish and a soda. My customer at my shop was shocked and asked him,"is something wrong?" and he complained,"Tip too SMALL!" but ok, it's not that terrible, kind of like chinatown, sometimes they throw the food at you, it's part if the fun.. The side dishes are like overcooked,boiled carrot slices and collard greens which u will throw out. (and those are so easy to make, toss some soy sauce in them,chop it up..it's fine...somehow they ruin them beyond belief..really. the main dishes are good if u stick to Soul chicken, southern fried chicken, BBQ ribs, bourbon grilled chicken, and similar things.. stay away from vegetable dishes and expect to toss the side dishes which are in little cups. I heard the vegan ice cream is great too. They make a good fake chicken and rib, stay with these. all in all..I still order these main dishes expecting the poor service and sides..because these is nowhere else like this

I took my non-vegan mother to this restaurant for her first vegan meal. We ordered fried chicken and ribs, which had the delicious flavor and texture of real meat and left my mother amazed and impressed with vegan food (she was belligerently skeptical at first..) the wait can be long but there are plenty of bars nearby where you can wait and the hostesses at Red Blossom will happily call you on your cell phone when your table is ready! Definitely a must-try for vegans in the city craving soul food!!
